One way to see if the masseuse is a professional in a non confrontational way is to ask if they are an LMT or CMT. If they ask what those acronyms are, you have your answer already about the legitimacy of their practice. And I often find when you ask professionals if they are LMT or CMT they don’t mind answering.

Very nice points, and it seems that the list keep growing. My two cents is, that he should be able to read the client since the moment they met. For instance, I encounter some masseurs that talks too much during the massage, if the client doesn't engage in the conversation that should be enough sign for them to know when to be quite it. It is important to check on the client during the massage to make sure everything is ok, but the chatty chatty ?? No bueno!
