Thanks! Jefferson was right! I think that most of the European immigrants who came to this country wanted to free from the entanglements and wars in their home countries.

They'rd be no wall in the Rockies. In my scenario the lands between the five states that border on the west side of the Mississippi River and the Rockies would belong to the Native Americans.

Because of the immigration demographics would be way different in my scenario. In fact I'd have embassies only in European countries where 2% of US citizens have come from. The USA would stay out of the affairs of other nations.

I do not include Texas and California. The USA would consist of the 13 Colonies, the Louisiana Purchase and the Two Floridas (East and West). People like Earl Warren and LBJ would probably still exist but from one of the 30 states that would comprise the Union. And embassies? Canada and Mexico because they are our neighbors. The various European countries. And Israel of course if it exists in this timeline. The USA would have stayed out of all foreign wars after 1776.

My point is with the background history I proposed - border from Atlantic to the Rockies, no foreign involvement etc., 9/11 would not have happened.

We got into WWII because of Pearl Harbor yet our emphasis was on Europe. What would we have done if Hitler had not declared war on the USA a few days after Pearl Harbor? The UK and France went to war over Poland yet did nothing when the Soviets invaded Poland shortly after the nazis. And they didn't care that the Soviets imposed Communism on Poland for 40 years.

Local police and if need be call out the National Guard.

To be honest I'd have been happy with our borders just being from the Atlantic to the Rockies. No annexation of Texas. And the lands west of the five western states that border the Mississippi would have been given to the Native Americans. A nation of 3o states. No Manifest Destiny. And military? A Coast Guard to protect our shores. No standing Army.

I see it as a domino affect. If there had been no Spanish-American War then there were have been no Pacific "colonies" and if we had not annexed the Hawaiian Islands there would have been no US territories for Japan to attack. And I think if we had not gotten involved in WWI there would have been no WWII, no nazi Germany, no Holocaust. Why should the US have cared whether Kuwait became the 19th province of Iraq or not? All those Middle East boundaries were artificial creations made by the UK and France. I don't think the US should either be the policeman or the social worker of the world.

Arrgh!!! The historical errors! In the episode I'm watching Pompey arrives in Egypt and meets the young Pharaoh. However in reality when Pompey arrived by ship in Egypt he got into a small boat to go to shore and was killed there in the small boat. He never made it alive to land. How could they have made such a mistake? Are they so ignorant of history? Did they not do research?

Homer's birthday (month and date) is unknown. Dante's is not known either but it is known that he is a Gemini so his birthday is celebrated on 1 June. Virgil's birthday is 15 October. Some think that Homer was born in Smyrna. There is Catholic saint Polycarp whose feast day was 26 January but has been moved to 23 February.
