I had the same hesitation, but the reviews were good so I decided to give it a go. I won't be going back. I've had better luck in other similar situations but it's definitely a crap shoot sometimes. It's one of the reasons I check things out here and post when I have something to add to the discussion.

Solidly in the bottom 10% of masseurs I've hired over many years. The good: a nice set up in a well-kept apartment on Capitol Hill, and he seems like a nice man. Easy to talk to. The pictures are accurate but they didn't really convey his bear-ness. Nothing wrong with that, just a little bit of a surprise when I got there. The bad: most importantly, the massage was pretty lousy overall. I asked for deep and got WAY less than that so the therapeutic aspect left much to be desired and his overall technique was uninspired at best. The sensual/erotic aspect was pretty perfunctory -- HE that wasn't connected to much of anything else he did. He used SO MUCH LOTION that I had to wipe myself down with a towel before getting dressed. He offered a shower but I decided it would be better to do that at home. Yuck. For me it was a waste of time and money. The reviews on RentMasseur say others thought he was pretty good -- although one said he wouldn't go back? Maybe he was just having a bad night and wasn't into it -- or me?
