Ah don’t feel bad and don’t be surprised if you get the same snotty confused look even when you tip 50%. I’ve stepped away from Spa 27 for a bit. The massage sessions themselves haven’t been bad by any means, but there has been this entitled attitude that’s rubbed me the wrong way. I’m a generous tipper for a good session. I don’t appreciate the “that’s it” look.

I've been receiving (and sometimes giving) massages for almost 30 years in cities all over the US and Mexico, using many masseurs multiple times, and I think my biggest peeve is when the masseur, after I have been to him a few times, senses my empathetic nature and starts to see me as HIS therapist. My most recent experiences of this have been in Houston, where I have lived for almost 8 years. After seeing one initially great masseur twice a month for nearly two years, I just had to stop when I realized that I knew more about him than he knew about me--and it was not knowledge that made me feel good about him. He talked nonstop from the moment I entered his apartment--all about him and his problems--just going through the motions of the massage. He would not take any signals from me, verbal or otherwise. One day while prattling on, he mentioned that sometimes clients just stopped coming to him, and that he never asked why. I missed my chance, because I was beginning to see why. Perhaps I could have made a difference for him, but I didn't say anything. I just quit like the others. I currently have been seeing another masseur who is behaving the same way. An interesting parallel is that both of these guys asked me to purchase package deals from them when they were having cash-flow problems. I fell for that. I have two remaining pre-paid massages with one of them and I am not beating a path to his door to redeem them. Sadly, the massage itself is great, but I just cannot stand the sound of his voice anymore.

1. When it’s not “clear” that the table has a fresh towel.
 
2. Paper towels to “wipe off” after the massage or bathroom towel that seems to be used before.
 
3. Shorting of time.
 
4. Pitch black room when he undresses and does the massage.
 
5. Checking computer or cell phone for messages. Or ringing phone.
 
6. Too much talking about nonsense.
 
7. Too cold room temp.
 
8. Late.
 
9. Bad breath or smelly body.
 
10. Too eager to do a rub and tug and be over with the massage.
 
11. Endless rubbing in one spot or monotonous massage.
 
12. While face down suddenly sticking his cock in ear, hair, or on my face in the hopes I will turn to suck him—all with no prodding.

Unprofessional masseurs with NO massage talent, who think they can charge outrageous hourly fees based solely on their hot looks. They open the door, strike a pose, put you on the massage table set up in the living room, show NO massage skills at all, and feel charging $180/hr for a quick rub and tug is justified since they are so hot. They do a lame 40 minute hour and rush you out the door afterwards, thinking it is all okay since they are so good looking.

I dislike table showers. And here’s my thought process throughout: this room just feels cold to me. Dammit, do I get my hair wet? I’m already kinda wet. Wait, where exactly does my head go? Where should I put my face...omg the water is going in my ear!! I feel like a corpse laying here...can you just get naked too please and join. Okay I’m slipping. Ahh that soap feels good. But yikes that scrub doesn’t. Okay it’s fine. Wait, I think there is scrub stuck in my ass. My nipples are hard, can we be done now. What is this small ass towel supposed to do for me? Do you have a blow dryer for my balls, I’m cold and wet. Ok byeeeeesss

Thanks to the nice reviews here, my partner and decoded to visit to the Shangrila spa today and had a great experience. The space is well decorated, spotless, and calming. Great location in Midtown near Bryant Park and Grand Central. I had a 90 min from Jorge and my partner had a 90 min with Rodriego. Both are beautiful and have excellent skills. My partner would have loved for Rodriego to go home with us. Overall a fantastic experience with well trained masseurs and no discussion of tips etc. Can’t wait to go back!

I have used Davis for several years. He has a very strong technique and you can ask him to lighten up on the pressure. I do recommend him. Select the 90 minutes and enjoy the full benefits of his talents. No he is not 21 probably 31. But that is ok.
