  1. I've learned to be suspicious of handsome well built escorts who claim to be versatile and into are all the activities I enjoy YET do not display an ass or cock shots.
  2. Thank god it has cooled off here in North Orange County, CA. It has been in the 90's the last few days. Today it was in the low 80's with a nice breeze. Unfortunately it is supposed to be back in the mid to high 90's this weekend. I am currently leaving the house to walk at 6 a.m. at which time it is still overcast thus I avoid both the sun and the heat.
  3. I started loosing my hair in my late teens. I eventually chose to go the comb over route rather than the toupee route. My part on the one side kept getting lower and lower. Then around 1995 I'd had it. I asked my students where I should go to get my hair clipped as short as possible. They sent me to Super Cuts. When I told the stylist to chip it as short as possible she was horrified and asked what my wife would say. Not being married and not wanting to get in a discussion I simply said that I didn't tell her how to do her hair and she didn't tell me how to do mine. After she had clipped off half of my hair she asked me what I though. I looked at her and smiled and asked what she would do if I didn't like it -- glue back what she had already cut off -- she didn't get it but went on and finished the rest. I then went home and shaved off the stubble. Now that I'm retired I don't shave my head every day -- more like two or three times a week. As far as I'm concerned shaving my head was the smartest thing I ever did. However, I must say that when I have both my head and face slavered all over with shaving cream I do look a little ridiculous.
  4. Unicorn might not some individuals achieve "personal satisfaction" from besting their best.
  5. In Europe between 1347 and 1351 40% to 50% of the population succumbed to the “Black Death”. Boccaccio in his work “The Decameron” wrote that many people who remained in Florence during this period decided to “drink and party away their final days in nihilistic revelries”. That situation and this current one are certainly not exactly the same but the longer this current crisis continues, I am convinced that, people’s reactions are going to mirror those of the people in Florence. People are going to get fed up with being sequestered and we are going to see more and more of this morbid party behavior. The article didn’t state if the young man had any underlying conditions or not. Most people under 40 seem to think that they most likely will not contract the virus but if they do it will be a mild case. The young have always thought of themselves as indestructible. I must say I wonder how much of this current upsurge in the virus is due to opening up too soon or to all the protests and rioting that took place about three or four weeks ago. During those protests and riots photographs showed that many of the participants were not wearing masks and they definitely were not social distancing.
  6. All of my adult life I've been anal retentive obsessive compulsive. If you don’t believe me just ask Oliver. I ceased doing weight training many years ago. I was constantly attempting to use heaver and heaver weights and as one ages that is not the best idea. As I mentioned in another thread I'm currently doing a lot of walking. I have four set routes that I take one after the other. After each of these walks I carefully write down how long it took me to complete and try to improve (shorten) my time the next time I take that walk. I am constantly competing with myself in a multitude of ways in my daily life. What I’m wondering is if any of the rest of you suffer from this same silly disease (obsession)?
  7. Iselguy over the last ten to fifteen years southern Arizona and the San Diego area of California have become subject to summer monsoons. The warm moist air has been flowing north along the west coast of Mexico and up through the Gulf of California.
  8. Sniper two of my walks are three miles and two are five miles. I do the three mile walks in about 30 minutes and the five mile walks in about 45 minutes on average. Today was a good day I completed my three mile walk in 28 minutes.
  9. FreshFluff, like you, up until recently my WWII interest has centered around the European theatre. However, I recently saw the Emmerich/Woody Harrelson film Midway which picked my interest in learning more about that battle. My entire life has been spent overdoing things, thus the nine books on Midway. After I finish the books on my current list I plan to finish reading Richard J. Evans' "The Third Reich at War". I have enjoyed what little I have already read and am thus looking forward to finishing it.
  10. Unicorn several of my friends has suggested that I drive somewhere and walk from there. I currently have a four day repeat walk pattern. I guess driving some place would be adding an additional step to a process I don't like to begin with so I don't do it. At my age my thinking has become "rather" rigid so I guess I'm stuck the the current process.
  11. FreshFluff great suggestion. Unfortunately the only problem is that I'm rather simple minded. I love classical music BUT when I listen to it I totally concentrate on the music. I've always found background music annoying. I read several hours a day but NEVER have music on when doing so as I find it distracting thus I read OR I listen to music NEVER both at the same time. The same is true with my walking. I'd probably start concentrating on the music and trip and break something.
  12. Pdxleo I just ordered from Amazon a copy of "Silent Victory". Thanks
  13. As anybody who knows me well, knows reading is one of the great joys of my life. I read constantly, frequently two or three books at a time. Thus I’m always looking for new things to read. I frequently get fixated on a topic and attempt to ready everything I can find regarding it – that explains the nine book I have recently read on The Battle of Midway. There are actually two more that I want to read but they are both way out of print and very expensive. Knowing me I will eventually spring for the money because I WANT to read the books. SO WHAT ARE YOU GUYS READING? I have read these Midway books and greatly enjoyed them: Boreneman, Walter R., “The Admirals: Nimitz, Halsey, Leahy, and King – The Five-Star Admirals Who Won the War at Sea”. Buell, Thomas B., “The Quiet Warrior: A Biography of Admiral Raymond A. Spruance”. Carlson, Elliot, “Joe Rochefort’s War: The Odyssey of the Codebreaker Who Outwitted Yamamoto at Midway”. Kleiss, N. Jack “Dusty Kleiss, “Never Call Me a Hero: A Legendary American Dive-Bomber Pilot Remembers the Battle of Midway”. Martell, Ronald E., Showdown in the Pacific War: Nimitz and Yamamoto”. Potter, E.B., “Nimitz”. Prange, Gordon W., “Miracle at Midway”. Rigby, David, “Air Group Commander Wade McClusky and the Battle of Midway”. Symonds, Craig L., “The Battle of Midway”. I’ve also recently read and enjoyed: Kaufman, Jonathan, “The Last Kings of Shanghai: The Rival Jewish Dynasties that Helped Create Modern China”. McGrath, Tim: “James Monroe: A Life”. I am about to read: Penn, Thomas, “A Royal Tragedy: The Brothers York”. Santopietro, Tom, “Considering Doris Day”.
  14. WilliamM, my friend, great comment -- no I never taught Current Events. I taught Spanish, Advanced Placement Art History, and Photography.
  15. WilliamM it's a great suggestion BUT I just happen to hate jogging and running even more than I do walking. If I had my druthers I'd sit on my ass all day reading in my air conditioned house. Unfortunately at my age the old adage "Use it or lose it" is perfectly appropriate.
  16. Rvwnsd the reason I hate walking is that I'm NOT doing it for pleasure I'm doing it for exercise. My walking pace is eight to ten minutes per mile. At my age I'm concerned about tripping and falling thus I keep my head down because the sidewalks are so terribly uneven. I glance up only occasionally so I'm aware of my surroundings and any people approaching me. Even if I could find someone to walk with me at my pace I'm not sure I would do it. I'm very interested in building up a sweat and at my pace I tend to breathe through my mouth and I'm not interested in conversing.
  17. Well Marylander1940 walking in San Francisco isn't what it once was. My niece lives in a beautiful Victorian a block from Dolores Park. She used to walk with her two small children in her neighborhood and in Dolores Park. She no longer feels safe doing so because of the reasons stated by maninsoma and even though she and here husband love living where they do they are planning to sell and move in the very near future.
  18. I walk three to five miles a day six days a week. I always walk alone because my friends won’t or aren’t able to walk at my pace. I walk for exercise. I certainly don’t walk for pleasure thus I DO NOT stroll or sounder. For forty five years I worked out at various gyms. People working out at bodybuilding gyms tend to wipe down the weights and equipment both before and after they use them. People “working out” at spa gyms don’t and although my current spa gym is open many people don’t even bother to wear masks or to social distance, thus I WALK. I absolutely HATE ever minute I walk from my first step to my last step and I don’t feel wonderfully accomplished/satisfied upon the completion of my daily walks. Feeling the way I do why you might ask do I do it? The reason is simple I’ll be eighty in October and at that age I sincerely believe I MUST be doing active exercise or I will end up house bound in Lazy-Boy chair and that I just “ain’t” about to let happen. HOWEVER, I still hate walking!!!!!
  19. If I were going to pick a place to live solely on the basis of weather it would be San Diego, California. During the winter it seldom goes below the 60's and in the summer is seldom goes above the high 70's low 80's. My kind of weather!!!! Actually I hate heat more than cold. This weekend in Northern Orange Country, CA it is projected to be in the mid to high 90's -- definitely too damn hot.
  20. As far as weather is concerned I'm fortunate to live in Southern California. Things begin to warm up here beginning the middle of July. The really hot months in Southern California are August and September and sometimes the first part of October. Starting last week the local temperature began rising and has reached the high 80's and low 90's. I absolutely HATE hot weather and I don't see the difference between hot and humid and hot and dry -- I hate them both equally. During the day I keep my thermostat at 76. I normally turn off the air conditioning at night as it usually cool off some twenty degrees. Every summer there are a few nights when the temperature doesn't drop much and on those nights I keep the AC running , fortunately, those nights are very few. During these hot months my electric bill rarely goes over $120.
  21. A number of years ago Ace attended the Palm Springs Weekend as a guest of a client. He created a sensation at the Trio dinner wearing a white tropical suit. That was before he and Tyler had met and became a couple. Both attended the Palm Springs Weekend together four or five year ago which is when the three of us got together. Every year I try and get them to attend but they haven't thus far been able to schedule it -- here's hopeful that they will be able to attend in 2021
  22. The hottest three-way I've ever experienced. The entire experience was mind boggling. Have tried to reconnect many times but our schedules just haven't meshed. Two really great guys!!!!! '
  23. When my brother-in-law was young he was a drop dead good looking blond, blue eyed, all-American stud. He worked in refrigeration/air conditioning. One day he was working on a movie set where they were doing screen tests for a role on an upcoming T.V. series. The director was throwing a screaming fit because he hated all the guys his staff had brought it to be tested. He kept repeated that he wanted a guy who looked like but couldn’t say who. Then he spotted by brother-in-law and said he wanted someone who looks like him and then added that in fact he want him. His flunkies rushed over to my bewildered brother-in-law to get his name and set up a screen test for him the next morning. When my brother-in-law got home he and my sister discussed the situation and he decided not to go to the audition. Michael Landon eventually got the role of Little Joe on Bonanza. We often wondered what would have happened had my brother-in-law gone to the audition.
  24. Great question Gar1eth!! If and when you get an answer do please forward it to me. THANX!
  25. Chigoodboy and I have texted back and forth several times. He comes off as a really nice guy. We have agreed on his fee and that he will meet me at the Hilton Hotel right in O'Hare. The only thing holding things up is this stupid covid19.
