Absolutely agreed. That's why I looked slightly askance at the above comment about treating massage as a hobby vs a job. Of course, clients should always be professional, but some masseurs do this work for the reasons you described (while also maintaining professionalism...in most cases).
-
This is still fascinating to me because even with the few masseurs I've hired who use PayPal or Venmo, there's a lack of directness. In each case, I recall that I've sent the masseur the payment and I've had to either remember their rate or look it up because they didn't just tell me when said I was doing an e-payment (or take the transaction into their own hands and charge my account). The only time I've been directly presented with a price is when I've used my card and they hand me the app as you mentioned. I'm trying to think of what service might be most analogous to m4m massage, but most of the time there's someone besides the practitioner who handles payment (at a spa, some hair salons, the doctor's office, personal trainers, etc). When dining out, you're presented with a bill, though typically in a check presenter so there's some gesture towards discretion. And of course, in most cases prices are listed on a menu you receive. I guess I find this interesting because my original hunch was that it has to do with the proximity to sex work (I'd consider even some strictly therapeutic masseurs on MF and RM sex workers) and a desire to downplay the exchange of money. I'm also inclined to believe that people in this line of work tend to not be especially business savvy, but that's obviously a sweeping assumption.

This is a valid point, but I've also noticed that some masseurs can become sheepish about the more transactional aspects of the trade. For example, I've come across enough masseurs who chafe at being handed the payment that I always just place it on a surface in plain view once the massage is done and I've gotten dressed. Or they'll suddenly become cutesy and aloof ("Oh, is this for me?"). I find the lack of straightforwardness about the transactional nature of the experience to be an annoyance, and I wonder if any masseurs on here have insight on that.

Any info on this guy? https://www.masseurfinder.com/massage-therapists/14897/

I third Ronnie. I've seen him a couple of times and he's a great guy.

Does anyone have info on the following guys in Seattle and SF (or other recommendations)? I'm interested in knowing about their level of technical skill and what sensual/erotic aspects might be included. Sorry for the dump--I did in fact narrow the list down despite its length! I've just been striking out recently so wanted to do my homework this time. Thanks in advance! Yeah, he's gone by some other names I can't recall at the moment and has been discussed here. He was stoned out of his mind when I saw him, but others have had good experiences.

Bless you.

He has good reviews on MF, but no chatter on here that I could find: https://www.masseurfinder.com/massage-therapists/28845/ Anyone have personal experience with David?

I would expect the masseur to either keep allowing old clients to pay the rate they’ve been paying or inform them up front upon booking that there’s a new rate. I feel like it has nothing to do with you being cheap as a client.

Bump. He’s in Boston now -
I think the pushback here is because the way this forum usually operates is by users posting requests for information about specific masseurs rather than posting about the experience whenever you hire like it’s Yelp.
-
I’d also like to know more if anyone has info
-
I also used to see him in Boston. He’s still probably the best masseur I’ve ever had in terms of technical skill (I was very sad when he left). He was therapeutic only as far as I know. Keep us posted if you find out that’s changed.

Great guy! He’s a very talented masseur, but therapeutic only as far as I know.

I think this might be the same guy who previously went by the name Luke Cotter, but I could be wrong. If it is the same guy, I had a massage by him a few years ago when he had just started advertising. I remember him being very technically skilled (has a medical background), but not enough for me to switch from my regular guy at the time, hence only one visit. There was a discussion in the escorting section about him having an attitude, but he was really nice to me. Let me know if you end up giving him a try. ETA: the ending was ok. I really liked that he asked me what felt best as far as the end, but as I recall, I hadn’t quite gotten used to the sensual aspect of massage at that point.

I wouldn’t recommend. Not very good and generally unfriendly. Also, I would have passed anyway had his face been clearly visible in his ad.

If you have to pick one masseur for the rest of your life...

I read up to this point and thought your post was going to turn out much differently. Thank goodness you were talking about FOOD, not masseurs! -
They're probably sharing a room, so maybe Omar had an appointment.

Sometimes therapeutic can be pretty sensual all by itself

I won't post more details here out of consideration for him, but feel free to PM me. -

Be careful with this one. He can be mercurial. -
Several of the reviews appear to be fake based on the consistent errors

I've pretty much given up. I just go to New York now.
-
Underwhelming. Wouldn’t repeat.

I texted him once. He's one of those guys who has three or four different pricing tiers and spells out exactly what's included at each level. I didn't end up booking. I have seen him out and abut and thought he looked even better than his pics.
