  1. Hmm, I'm hard pressed to imagine a Democrat or Republican arguing in a campaign that their constituency shouldn't be bothered by their vote against a law perceived to combat prostitution and sex trafficking of young women because Jesus was known to hang with prostitutes. Reality rears its ugly head and our displeasure with the outcome really makes no difference.
  2. The law is broad enough to cover RentMen and gay sites. My point was that it seemed to me that the emphasis in Congressional/political discussions has been on sex trafficking of young women, especially those who are immigrants and many whose situations amount to slave conditions. That's not to say that politician and prosecutors are limited to that realm. What I was wondering about is whether a lot of effort will be spent going after something like Rentmen when that type of website has not been emphasized as something that needs to be closed down. Of course, police and prosecutors in some jurisdictions who want to go after everything that's "sinful" will do so and owners of our favorite gay sites may not want to take the risk.
  3. Isn’t the emphasis on this, and other recent news about cracking down on prostitution, a crackdown on underage prostitutes and those forced into it. This wouldn’t apply to sites like RentMen. That’s not to say that the recent federal legislation doesn’t raise concerns about sites being shut down by internet servers, but police activity doesn’t seem to be focusing on gay sites full of adult males. Am I wrong on this?
  4. I think the client is justified in assuming he doesn’t owe anything more. The escort is the pro who manages the time.
  5. Happy to report that the technology for cell phone communications at the Washington/British Columbia border is excellent.
  6. My experience with him wasn’t as extreme, but he did cancel at the last minute with no excuse. I criticized him for it and he sent back a curt, rude text, quickly followed by another apologizing and saying that I was right. I’m glad to hear that when he is available he’s very good.
  7. Has anyone spent time with this young man? https://rentmen.eu/hunghusky
  8. Removing contact info from the narrative (rather than the escort’s Contact Me section) makes more sense, although I don’t like the idea.
  9. What’s a super nova in this context?
  10. And versatile too.
  11. If escorts can’t publish phone numbers, email addresses or external links on RM, what’s left? Are they going to be limited to the RM internal communication option? That should inspire more escorts to use it, but how is that any different from using those other (now prohibited) means of communicating? Isn’t this getting close to a site that just shows photos of attractive guys?!
  12. I know the big emphasis is on male/female hookups, especially if any sites have links to underage sexual encounters, but upon what do you base the statement that “prosecutors are not supposed to be going after gay hook-up sites”? That wasn’t the case with RentBoy, although I always wondered if one reason for that was the amount of publicity the owner generated with related activities.
  13. In addition to locked pics (a must in my opinion), consider photo(s) that show your smile. Cody Converse does this (see today's Review - he's removed his RM ad for the time being). Andrew Maroc is another example https://rentmen.eu/AndrewMaroc
  14. AND you should have your link in your post. You can edit the post and add the link by clicking on the link symbol (a chain link) and pasting your link. I look forward to seeing it.
  15. This appears to be a guy in Seattle who was regularly on RM over the past year who uses lots of photos who aren’t him, including several now being used and has changed his name frequently. He’s described himself in the past as versatile, but is really only a top (I speak from experience). That being said, he is a tall, good looking guy in good shape who looks similar to the photos, but not as buff. I enjoyed his company, but felt his misrepresentations were reason not to see him again.
  16. Never heard of such a function and don’t know why a car manufacturer would waste time on it. BUT headlights are much more efficient than they used to be and drivers may be less likely to realize that a light is out, especially in a city with lots of other light.
  17. I assume RentMen will talk to their lawyers about the effect of this law on a company based in Europe. That’s what they did after RentBoy went down and they took steps to change their operations. The big issue is how will Daddy respond?!!! All very unfortunate if his operation is considered soliciting prostitution. I would think applying sex trafficking prohibitions would be a real stretch.
  18. You’d get best results if you post this in the Deli section. A more appropriate place.
  19. But isn’t your limited comment an extreme approach to a no review rule? There’s plenty of commentary throughout the forums that give the rest of us some amount of guidance. Was he unresponsive, uninterested, unskilled, drugged up? Are his photos false? All of these topics have been briefly mentioned in many posts about other escorts.
  20. Yet another reason to tell escorts what experiences you are looking for and confirm what services you’ll be paying for.
  21. I thought top/versatile meant he preferred to top, but will bottom if he feels like it (sometimes clarified by saying if more than an hour and the vibe is good). Am I wrong?
  22. I agree. It's never occurred to me to sit around and wait for an escort to thank me and I've never received a thanks. I assume escorts are living their lives and are far too busy looking at texts, etc. from potential clients. I've always been confident, however, that when we meet again my escort will remember my kind words and our experience will be more enjoyable as a result.
  23. I don't think this is good advice for the person asking. I suppose one could feel contrite knowing that an appointment was made three weeks in advance and that an escort has screwed up when he fails to report a schedule problem. But what does that accomplish? Why not send a simple message a day ahead confirming? This wouldn't be the start of relentless texts. It would be a wise business move to ensure that all is well. Maybe last minute emergencies will occur occasionally, but I stick with the recommendation that a follow up confirmation is the better course.
  24. A Cirque de Soleil performer died in a performance today. http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Culture/cirque-du-soleil-performer-yann-arnaud-dies-fatal/story?id=53834874 He was a long time pro and no one knows at this point what happened. It’s especially sad because he was married and had kids. News agencies are now emphasizing that over the past many years Cirque de Soleil has had some accidents and one or two deaths. It’s sad news, but I must say that once again I’m feeling old and out of touch with the current approach to such things. Nowadays when something happens in a high risk venture, news reporters start talking about past injuries and report that deaths have occurred in the past. Of course they have! It’s a high risk endeavor!! Now, if an investigation discloses that Cirque de Soleil failed to followed proper safety procedures (I bet unlikely in their case), then I’ll be upset. But the fact that someone dies doesn’t immediately raise in my mind the specter that someone is at fault and this death was nothing other than the sad result of human imperfection. The loss of life is sad, but it seems to me that an approach that routinely dismisses inherent risks, although good for news headline,s is unhealthy for society.
  25. All of the above posts are thoughtful and helpful. Bizarre, and So sorry that you had to experience it, but I gotta say, it sounds like a comedy writer created the scene!
