What's the very worst musical you ever saw?
handiacefailure replied to Merboy's topic in Live Theater & Broadway
I loved her in the Sonheim Birthday special when Patty Lupone sang "Ladies who lunch" and when she Patti said does anyone still wear a hat, they showed Elaine wearing a red a hat. That was Elaine's big song and was great how her and Patti hugged after Patti finished singing it. Was cool that Patti played that part in the revival of Company after in the West End. I liked her performance at the White House too and felt really bad for her. She acted like she had dementia when she was singing, she sang "I'm still here" for the Obama's and used the opening line she used at the liberty and forgot the punch line and she messed up a couple lines in the song and her pianist had to help her out with a couple of the words she forgot but she still got a standing ovation from the Obamas. I liked her in the show Two's Company and she said "does anyone still wear a hat" as a line in on of the shows and "I'll drink to that" in another episode, you'd have to be a true Stritch fan to catch the humor in those. -

Florida, but liked Mrs. Maugatuck also. I didn't care for Victoria, fortunately she wasn't in that many episodes. -

I think Bea and Elaine are very similar. Elaine did a show called "nobody's perfect" that I wish they would put out on DVD that I can't find anyplace that ran for a few seasons in the UK. I'm told it was like a UK version of Maude which is a show I love to this day. -

I saw Bea perform her one woman show in Toronto and she was very funny. Her and Elaine have similar qualities, they both say what's on their mind. The recording is one Apple Music. I thought it was funny to hear her talk about how much TV changed over the years. They wouldn't allow her to say "son of a bitch" in an episode of Maude and in the pilot of the Golden Girls Sophia called Dorothy's date something like a duffus and the line was suppose to be he's a douche bag and they wouldn't allow her to say douche bag on the air back then. I loved Maude even though I was really young when it came out. She said Walter's alcoholism was a taboo subject back then and it was the first tv show to have characters go into a gay bar and her having the facelift was a big deal. And I don't think I've seen any tv shows in years where they discussed a woman having an abortion -

I think she would have been great as Sophia LOL -

I would have loved to have seen Stritch at Libery live. I own the DVD. I have to wonder about the part about the Golden Girls though since she said she tried out for a CBS show and Golden Girls was on NBC. I was fortunate enough to see her live in A little night music with Bernedette Peters. I saw it with the original cast of Angela Lansbury and Cahterine Zeta Jones and wasn't something I wanted to see again but wanted to see those two together, they should have done a rerelease of the cast recording, those two were a lot better. I still laugh remember watching her on the Today Show and her saying Fuck and the censors never caught it:) -

Drowsy was great. I love Sutton Foster (I think it was her first show after Thoughly Modern Millie). Also saw it in West End because Elaine Paige was in it. -

I'm surprised at the people on here that didn't like cats. The movie wasn't good but loved the musical. Memory by Betty Buckley is one of my favorite songs and would have loved to have seen it with her in it. My one cat Tugger is named after a character in Cats I liked. -
I'm going to South Beach soon and was looking for someone to hire there and he is hot but looking at his reviews on RM I'll pass.

I saw it in Chicago pre Braodwaying a nd was very disappointed. Reason I went was because I love Andrew Lloyd Weber and after I bought the tickets found out the Trib called it a disaster and I was surprised it made it to broadway. I didn't walk out of the show but thought about it. Starlight was a lot better than Stephen Ward though. I heard Love Never fails was also a flop, Weber used to be great but his musicals lately have all sucked. Weber wrote his own musical of Cinderella that was suppose to have opened this year in the West End. Who knows if that will happen, hopefully it's better than the last few musicals he's written. -
One I'd like to ad is Van Darkholme. I never remembered seeing an ad from him and love how tall he is for an asian, great body and great at bondage and bdsm.

I would have been too young to see it, but Patti Lupone's brother had a part and was nominated for a Tony for best supporting actor for Chorus line. I should see if the library has the cast recording of the original cast when I go there this afternoon. Not a musical I ever wanted to see but would be cool to hear Lupone perform -

I hope the op is messing with us. He also didn't know who Sheena Easton. -
Angela Rivera has an ad up sometimes but usually only has it up for a week or two and then ad is gone for months. He is always in Miami when I've seen his ads

She was a great actress. Loved her in the Mel Brooks movies. Too bad Phyliss was never released on DVD.

I hope you didn't pay him a deposit, he told me his rate is $500 and requires a 50% deposit up front. Another reason I don't want to pay a deposit, if an escort pulls shit like this you're screwed out of the deposit.

I just remember one. Tales of the City. Even though it was a local SF production, I love all the books and movies and had high expectations. The music was awful and they ruined the storyline of the book. -

It was a great show. Only reason I saw it was because Sheena was in it and my expectations were pretty low but it ended up being a great show. I wish they would have filmed it with Sheena though. That's one thing I don't like about BroadwayHD is they don't have the original cast. With Kinky Boots I wish they would have filmed it with Billy Porter. -
Reading this thread makes me glad I'm WAY past the age of having roommates LOL. Last time I had a roommate was after I bought my first condo and decided to rent out the spare room for extra cash and wasn't worth it. Since I owned the place and most of the furniture was mine I didn't like the idea of strange guys in the house when I wasn't home and travelling. The final straw was when I came home from a long trip and he had a guy over and they were in his room screwing and I saw half my bottle of expensive Vodka was gone and the trick comes out of the bedroom naked and goes to the basement and I found out the trick had bought his laundry over to do (using my laundry soap of course).

His pics are hot and he will be in Detroit soon and I sent him a message. He responded within a couple minutes that his rate is $500 an hour and he requires a 50% deposit up front. He's hot but not worth that much and I refuse to pay a deposit to any escort.

I never had any desire to see 42nd Street but saw it a few years ago when it was playing at the Royal Drury in London, a few doors from my hotel and noticed Sheena Easton was staring so had to see it and loved the show. Sheena was a bitch after the show she exited the start door and only had about a dozen people wanting autographs (someone had even brought a vinyl cover for her to sign) and she exited with a couple people and refused to talk to anyone. -

Stephen Ward. Huge disappointment and went to see it in London since I was always a huge fan of Andrew Lloyd Weber. Music was awful and we left at intermission. It only last in the west end about six months and never made it to the USA. My hotel is only a couple doors over from the theater and the show the preceeded it was there for a couple years and Beautiful was the show that took over for Stephen Ward and was there a few years and the Tina musical has been there the past couple years. This was a musical that should have never been made and can't believe Weber would write something that awful.
