VAN LEO (BORN LEVON BOYADJIAN, 1921-2002) SELF-PORTRAIT, 1941 VAN LEO ran a successful portrait photography studio in Cairo during the second half of the 20th century. His self-portraits were an artistic highlight of his career. He used them to experiment with new setups and photographic techniques including solarization, the use of glass shields and filters, sandwiched negatives, multiple exposures and creative lighting effects.
