I have a problem because I'm not sure where that pic may end up or how it may be used. I don't need the hassle and embarrassment of appearing on someone's tumblr blog or twitter feed as the sad old man trying to hire a 19 year old. I'm upfront when I contact an escort - my age, the fact that I'm not in shape, and that I'm not an attractive man. I think that should give them enough to help them with their decision.

Its also a Socio-Economic thing, or at least a perceived one. A nice lady who i see frequently at my work, told me her cousin got beat up by a group of black boys.. it was because he was talking educated and proper, and they did not like it at all, and considered him a tool of the white man and a sell out.

If I were visiting a domestic city primarily for escorting, yes. If I were visiting a domestic city in which escorting was an auxiliary goal but not the primary purpose of the trip, then also yes if I had my druthers. I would get crickets going to a new city compared to all the dozens of hotties and known quantities. I've built enouhh bases in certain cities where I have had reasons to visit other than escorting, that i tend to avoid non-anchor cities. I'm in one non-anchor now bc I wanted to explore it, but I gave myself a limited window of time there bc I don't have anchors here except new anchors. Sorry my ambien is kicking in but you get the idea.

If you don't secure bookings in advance, a client might say, "Another escort reached out and confirmed with me already and I have already used up my escorting budget. Thus, I can't see you this trip." That scenario has happened to me more than once on both sides of the equation.

For Seattle, I always reach out in advance to try to decide how best to split my time between Seattle, Bellevue, Federal Way, Tacoma, and Seatac. When my hotel location is not going to vary based on client availability (e.g. Manhattan) I don't need to be as strategic about setting things up in advance. Advanced booking also helps an escort decide how to best balance his ratio of weekdays to weekends in a city.

The problem with securing advance appointments is a very high percentage of people tend to cancel at the last minute, or whenever you contact them to confirm they say, "I meant to contact you to cancel." Or something to that effect. If you can make fill your dance card booking same-day appointments only, there's little incentive to reach out in advance. You have to remember that DR is not representative of the escort world as a whole, that most clients are looking for same-day appointments, and that a hot body--rather than a proactive booking approach-- is all you need to seal the deal.

Thanks all - This thread was a catalyst to take some action.

My cable provider comes up for renewal in a couple of months.

I’ve had a TV in my bedroom for quite some time that was only hooked up to a DVD/VHS player. Didn’t use it very much. It’s a flat screen but not a “smart” TV. Only 1 HDMI input.

So I bought an antenna. Kind of following MassageGuy’s initial footsteps. Got the:

“AmazonBasics” (50mi amplified - $40) antenna and mounted it high on my vaulted ceiling wall facing the main batch of transmission towers that are about 25mi away. The antenna is “looking” through a tile roof. I get the primary networks channels in nice digital HD (CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX, PBS). I also get a decent smattering of other channels. Overall quite satisfied for the investment. I’ll just play with for awhile.

I’m not ready to cut the cable yet to my primary TV. But I’m looking at that idea with a much more critical eye. Maybe a faster internet (25mb?) with a box (Apple, Roku, ??). Ideally the internet router could wirelessly stream to a “box(s)” that could be attached to 2-3 TV’s.

I would be interested in hearing from the august members of this forum how they have have cut the Cable TV cord.

My provider (Comcast) won't allow customers to take advantage of newer cheaper rates if they "downgrade". So basically they make it next to impossible to save money by reducing services.

I'm tempted to cut out all TV and just go with high speed Internet.

How do you access "broadcast" TV via Internet? I don't feel like climbing on the roof to install antenna.

Happy New Year! Let's make 2016 the year of cord cutting!
