  1. I have not eaten in a restaurant in a year. Miss the experience.
  2. As the OP, I was hoping someone out there had some personal experience or at least reliable information. Apparently not. Reactions, quips and opinions are fine and entertaining and are generally welcome. Some of the comments on this thread, however, have been rather rough on an escort no one seems to have met.
  3. Amir at 5:30 St. Catherine E. Fast food, but cheap and good. Open until 4:00 am. Great after a hard night at Campus and Stock.
  4. I am hoping things just might be back up to speed by July 2021.
  5. Better choice for good late night food is the Lebanese place.
  6. I never get to order anchovies on a pizza. Have always been emphatically voted down.
  7. Have you tried them topped with anchovies?
  8. I drove around the UK many years ago. The first few days were terrifying. Chose not to try it again. Roundabouts were a unique challenge. Cambodia is pretty special. Thailand to their west drives on the left, while Vietnam to the east drives on the right. Cambodians choose not to take sides and just drive anywhere.
  9. I got slammed with altitude sickness in Ecuador. Quito is over 9000 feet up. Didn't expect it. However, I'm good for a couple hours up there.
  10. Unlike past years, this time I reserved a car. Best deal I could get was a mid-sized SUV from Budget at the airport at $43 per day for 5 days. Much higher than I had expected. In the past I relied on Uber/Lyft and the kindness of others to shuttle me around town. It was OK, but this year I will be in a position to return the favor, so hit me up if you need a ride somewhere. I'm staying at Inndulge. I thought I might take the tram this year. Will explore reservations for it. Let me know if anyone else is interested. The art museum, btw is terrific. Glad to hear that the city will not likely be under any kind of severe lockdown. I am so looking forward to this trip. I haven't been anywhere in 15 months and am tired of rain.

  12. They do lean toward over caution. I will be fully vaccinated, so I think I can set my own limits.
  13. Also, the cancellation policy at Inndulge has been reduced from 40 days out to 14 days out. Much more flexible this year.
  14. Inndulge offered me a free night based on my lost deposit from last year. I like the place a lot, so I booked 4 nights for this year. It is about $100 a night more than Canyon Club (also a good choice.)
  15. According to the CynClub website they have nothing available for any dates. Sounds like a glitch. Will call them tomorrow. Inndulge has rooms starting at $932.98 including taxes and fees for a 4 night stay (what I looked for.) They are offering a 14 day cancellation window which is good. Wow, thanks! Same thing exactly they offered me when I cancelled last year. I will book if they will credit me the deposit from last year.
  16. A decent cardio workout would kill me. Look forward to seeing you anyway. I
  17. I've stayed at both Canyon Club and Inndulge. Canyon club is much cheaper, but Inndulge is much nicer. Last year I lost about $600 to Inndulge due to their restrictive cancellation policy, COVID notwithstanding. I seem to remember that Canyon Club is more flexible. Since this year is still a little iffy, it may be the safer choice. My vaccinations are both scheduled for March, but one never knows. Also, I would predict a smaller group this year due to circumstances, so Canyon Club may have more participants staying there perhaps. I've been in seclusion for a year and badly need to go somewhere, but not without my shots.

    Palm Springs

Wonder who will be around in Palm Springs April 9 to April 12. Looking ahead.
  19. I've been trying for years to hook up with these guys, but I don't get to TN, and they don't get to Seattle. They keep getting hotter.
  20. Richard Chamberlain. I collected Dr. Kildare trading cards. Also, the young Pat Boone. And Robbie on My Three Son's.
  21. I have no qualms of popping into the local Safeway for beer, milk or the off item. I wear a mask, sanitize hands and cart, say away from others, and don't stay long. Most of my groceries I order through Instacart, and my store of choice is Sprouts. Not everything on line is always available. Some substitutions are reasonable, some are loopy. I ordered head cheese and they substituted provalone.
  22. I have no problem with a younger provider, though that is not a requirement.
