I thought steroids basically replaced your nuts so they were no longer involved and thus they shrink. That was always my experience anyways. I know there are other newer ways of boosting testosterone that don't involve steroids like taking female hormones and other drugs that stimulate the pituitary gland. They actually make your balls grow.
