    The local main East–West road in town has (eastbound) Kia, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Lincoln, Mazda, Lexus, Honda, Ford, Nissan …… in a two mile stretch. I opted for an Audi Q7 to replace my Lexus. A significant difference in philosophy. Very interesting.

    I love doing "HAL" voice. It's almost completely unfocused. Years of vocal training taught me how to vary my vocal focus, so I can put it anywhere from just above my vocal chords (Thus the "I'm sorry, Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that") to a steel-piercing high-C of Mahler's eighth. Great fun. The defocused voice is great for sotto voce comments that I don't want anyone outside of three feet to hear.

    When I visited Kanagaroo Island off Adelaide, Australia, we walked with the sea lions. The issue is relative speed: Humans don’t run on sand so well as sea lions.

    New elevator experience: At the bank or elevators, there is a touch screen with various floors. You touch\select your floor. It then tells you which elevator to use. You get in. There is a pad for room key approval, but no buttons it takes you to your floor. Never saw anything like i5 before in my life.
