James Levine has brought a lawsuit against the Met: The New York Times headline: Star Conductor, Fired Over Abuse Allegations, Sues Metropolitan Opera The Lawsuit, filed in New York State Supreme Court, states that Mr. Levine "has clearly and unequivocally denied any wrongdoing in connection with those allegations," and paints his firing as a result of an effort by the Met's general manger, Peter Gelb, "to oust Levine from the Met and completely erase his legacy from the organization. The suit seeks more than $5.8 million in damages. Comment: Is this the correct decision for someone suffering from Parkinson's Disease. It is a very cruel disease.

The World Cup starts with Russia against Saudi Arabia on June 14 @ 11:00 EDT. Venue will probably be Moscow or St. Petersburg. Can't wait.

I have seen several production of "Carousel." Most recently, the concert version with Hugh Jackman and Audra McDonald at Carnegie Hall in 2002. Perhaps the concert "Carousel" was less offensive that this new production fully staged. Also, "Carousel" has never been on of my favorite musical, So I am less critical.

Mariano graduated the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia where I knew him for a semester. He's had his own action television show in South America for several years. Very nice guy. He lives in Argentina and Beverly Hills.
