I can confirm as well that no matter how big you are, Nathan and Oliver can handle it comfortably,no need to worry about their massage.

Agree with Kenneth’s manipulation of limbs during stretching, especially for clients who aren’t use to getting intense Thai massages. I know exactly the move you’re referring to regarding the leg twist. He should take more heed prior to making quick moves like that. Overall, though, I did feel safe, with such an intense Thai massage.

I didn’t get personal questions, but honestly, I didn’t understand some of his statements and I stayed quiet in those circumstances. I did finally catch one aspect of him promoting the silverlake spa a couple times, but I let him know that was too far for me. Definitely some communication issues.

I’ve had a session with him before. I agree he’s very skilled in Thai massage, and his pressure is excellent. However, he really needs to give a heads-up before stretching or adjusting the client’s body. At one point, he suddenly twisted my leg quickly and forcefully, which felt unsafe. Even after I told him to stop, he kept doing it and just said, “Ok, ok, good, good.”
What made me even more uncomfortable was that he asked a lot of inappropriate personal questions. Then he leaned in very close and whispered, in a strange tone,…. xxxx which was completely out of line.
After that, I tried Oliver, and he was excellent (he’s now one of my favorites, along with Nathan). I also sent a friend to try Kenneth, and they had a very similar experience.

There are pluses and minuses to each setting. As you mentioned, more flexibility and a more private setting are definitely a plus. I would also argue, thoigh, at TWS, you get less (or even none) cancellations, late starts, getting shorted on time. You also get hot towels and often times extras go above and beyond RM norms.

With that said, I had an awesome 90-minute massage with Kenneth yesterday. I’d say he is the most technically sound therapist at TWS in terms of Thai (stretching and all) and deep tissue bodywork. Highly recommend him for that type of massage.

I’ve been following this group for a while and finally wanted to share my thoughts. I’ve been to this place, tried most of the therapists, and also met some from RM I usually tip around $60–$100 for 60 mins depending on the service i get.
I was honestly surprised to see some negative comments trying to ruin therapists’ reputations just because expectations weren’t met or someone had a bad experience. If you’re going to share that, you should also mention how long your session was, what you expected (normal massage or extra), and how much you tipped.
I really feel bad for the therapists. They get criticized publicly but don’t get a chance to defend themselves. If you’re unsure about tipping, just check RM and you will get the idea how much should you tip them
I spoke with  a therapist, and he was very open about his experience. After hearing stuffs. It honestly made me feel bad. He said he often gets tips like $20–$30 even with extra service. He was not happy BUT still has to smile and stay professional. If he asks for more, he risks getting accused online of upselling. If he shows he’s unhappy, people review him as rude or arrogant.
All I want to say is just put yourself in their position. Would you be happy doing that work for that amount of money?

I have been to TWS multiple times and have experience with many of their therapists.
while I agree with much of your response, your statement, “especially if there are extras involved, you should tip them even more.” The tips you recommended based on time of appointment don’t reflect an appropriate tip for basic service with no extras, at least based on the starting price. A 50% tip is not the usual amount for most other massage places.

The issue lies in the starting price. The owner or therapists set their starting price very low compared to normal RM rates, and they are taking a risk setting that price so low, that they’re likely going to get customers who see a deal and want to jump on it or attract patrons who normally can’t afford a massage that we all enjoy. That’s a risk that they are taking and they should understand that and be okay with it. If they are not, and they get offended when tips are on the low end, they should increase their prices where they won’t be offended if they get a smaller tip.

With that said, I’ve also had many massages with providers on RM, and understand the value that I get when going to TWS.
I’ve had 2 90-min massages with therapist where no extras were involved, and I tipped $50.

I’ve had many more “special” 90-Min massages with therapists and I tipped $100 or more. Especially since the therapists at TWS actually give a better therapeutic massages than most on RM or MF. While many aren’t formally trained, they do learn quickly and get markedly better with time. Even at a $200 all-in price point, I think most of can agree that is a steal.

I’ll be heading over there tomorrow and am looking forward to another great massage.

Agreed 1000%! I’ve been asked here and RM for “what extras I received and with who” and my answer is always to say that I went in for a massage and then only share my experience with the massage itself. Everything else is and should be private if anything happens and we should never expect to receive anything from anyone. This isn’t a brothel and if it were, some of y’all would be getting kicked out trying to tip the small amounts you’ve been mentioning because they almost insulting. Tip accordingly and tip well. Create a safe space for all and then enjoy the benefits of an amazing massage.

Billy advertises a base rate of $130 for a 2 hour session. I think we can all agree that this is an exceptional and low rate even for a one hour massage from most providers on Rent Masseur.
The "rudeness and storming off" is subjective. But it's not like the providers here don't know that they are priced well below their competitive set in Los Angeles. It behooves the the client to be mindful of that, especially with longer sessions and and "extra service." I don't agree with the behavior that the client says occurred, but a fair amount of grace should be given to Billy, was the client aggressive? Wanted more service than Billy was willing to provide?  Let's be honest that was a poor tip, regardless. This is Los Angeles, not Bangkok

I’d like to share a quick thought. Recently, I tried sessions with two new therapists, and it gave me some perspective.
It turns out that the spa owners and staff do read the posts in this forum. When it comes to massage quality or communication with clients, they genuinely appreciate feedback and are willing to improve. However, there have been some negative comments that aren’t entirely accurate, and unfortunately, they don’t have a way to publicly respond or clarify those points.
Some of the therapists have also expressed that they would prefer discussions here to focus on the massage itself, rather than other topics. They’ve mentioned feeling uncomfortable and even a bit unsafe, knowing that this is a public forum that anyone, including outside parties or authorities, can access.
For anything beyond general massage experiences, it might be more appropriate to discuss privately via DM. There have also been situations where clients come in expecting specific things because they read about it here, and then try to direct the therapist to do exactly that. It’s important to remember that every therapist has their own boundaries and professional choices, and it’s completely their right to decide what they are or aren’t comfortable offering.
Let’s be respectful of that and avoid putting pressure on them.

An important note: $30 for this type of massage is not a “very good tip.” That’s a solid tip for a hour standard massage at an Asian massage parlor, but not for the type of massage you describe. It doesn’t take much searching on these forums to discover that you’re tipping below the expected rate. Leaving tips like this will result in masseurs feeling like they need to initiate negotiation during the session which most of us do not like to experience.

Too many to share in one post, but I met up with a masseur from RM whose picture did not match in person. It was the same guy, but he was much older. I still decided to go for it and let him know via email and text my preference. During the massage, he was blowing on my back which was odd and then on the flip, climbed up on the table and shoved his bottom into my face. This was NOT was I wanted or expecting at all and I had to basically tap him out to get him off. After that, the massage was cut short by 30min because I was turned off but the entire experience and he still had the nerve to ask me for a tip.
