I checked a few years ago and it was no longer up and running. Believe me, lol it really was a site... I can remember whose names I saw there. Two people that I suppose I got lucky with, but evidently weren't so kind to others that I knew.. I trust my intuition, my filters set in place, what another trusted working fella has to share with me much more than a site or app than can be so easily abused. I've never used Mr. Number. Once upon a time there was a website called "Don't fuck withus.com" ( no joke ) I only visited it once and did see some names, numbers and email addresses that were familiar to me.

Respectfully, doesn't asking for the deposit back defeat the purpose of the deposit in the first place? I'm doing my best to see this from the perspective of people who insist on receiving deposits prior to meeting people... I'm guessing they ask for the deposit in case for whatever reason a client isn't able to keep the commitment the fellow asking for the the deposit isn't totally out when that occurs. If the deposit is to be given back when a client can't keep the commitment, what's the purpose for the deposit to begin with? Trust and believe me, deposits for day to day business are messy and just not conducive to a fulfilling, successful, long escorting career. I cannot control the behavior of others... people who flake, cancel, cancel last minute, tire kick, haggle, will always exist.... I can only control how I deal with, react or don't react to those types. I've already shared what works for me. "Control the controllables" I probably will not be commenting further on this beat to death topic not even if a new topic arrises "should deposits be refundable?" 🫠😵‍💫

That's an excellent point. I require a phone conversation with all first timers before we meet. It's one more opportunity to get a feel for someone and it's for the benefit of both parties.

You're right. I probably should have said "after reading just here on COM, the reaction and response to deposits it would be insanity and lunacy to believe..." In a rare instance where driving a long distance to meet someone they've never met I've heard of folks asking for a deposit . If the person didn't want to pay it it's pretty simple, you don't get upset... if it were me I'd tell them that if they're ever in the same city as me to please feel free to reach out. I feel like a broken record saying this but there are far better ways to deal with no shows and folks who habitually cancel and who cancel last minute without offering to make it right. Keep notes of who's habitually canceling, who totally flakes out, store them in your phone as such because it never fails, they will reach out again.... IF YOU DECIDE THAT YOU WANT TO RESPOND, OPERATIVE WORD "IF" kindly remind them that you recall them having a history of not being able to keep their commitments and if they would like to see you, you'd require that they pay your FULL fee in advance. Let them know if they do pay your fee full fee there's no need to to ever discuss the history of not keeping commitments... for me that's always been win - win ... they either pay you or they never bother you again. It's happened more often than you'd think and it's allowed for keeping in each other's good graces.. Might have gotten off to a rocky start but there's no need to bring up the past. You might also want to let first timers, people you've never met before that all you ask is if they need to cancel that they please give you as much notice as possible so that you may re-book the slot if need be and make them aware that you do have a last minute cancellation policy. This done over a long period ( not gonna happen overnight ) will help keep you seeing only folks that keep and honor their word and keep their commitments. I am close to certain that I've filtered out so many of the people that don't value other people's time and this is what's allowed me to stay with a extremely low cancellation rate and percentage. I say it all the time, we all do it a bit differently and I'm simply sharing what's worked for me, what continues to work for me, what's kept me enjoying what I do with who I choose to spend my time with AND lastly , alternatives to requesting deposits

I'm sympathetic and empathetic to people who experience no shows, an alarming number of cancellations, deal with people who don't value their time but it's nothing short of insanity and lunacy to believe that deposits are going to rectify the problem or increase productivity... folks, it seems to me from all I've read here, is that the general consensus has spoken.... the vast majority of people just will not pay deposits ( and probably for good reason ) The sentiment here is a small sample that probably speaks to and represents a much larger demographic that feels the exact same way about paying deposits. How many different people need to post about the same subject over and over before it sinks in???? ... don't take my word for it... look up the word "deposits" here on just this website and read what most have to say about deposits.. I've never insisted on deposits for a reason. When I travel I usually do not have a single day to myself and that's exactly my objective... I can almost assure you that if I started asking people for deposits all of a sudden I would start to have days to myself and would begin to hear crickets 🦗 for the first time in my involvement in this endeavor that's actually been exceedingly good to me.

I'd venture to say that a LARGE percentage of people here have had to not tell the truth about where they spent the last hour, 2 hours, night and weekend... I think we're dealing with a tempest in a tea pot here and it's a FANTASY after all... it's not high treason or the ultimate betrayal ... let's remember that "nobody's perfect"

When Numbers on Santa Monica Blvd closed it was an end of an era ( upstairs ) My longtime friend "Turgidtoro" always asked where I wanted to eat and out of the many cool places we ate at and I could choose from Numbers was where I probably enjoyed the most. I loved the moody lighting, the cozy booths, seeing the same regular crowd in the bar area... Call it what you want but it was a special place ... AND the shrimp cocktail, steak tartare, and steak were to die for! Anyone remember the maître de Tony? He was a fun riot! With Numbers now gone we usually end up at Ajisai for "jazz 🎷 & Sushi 🍣 " Just a short walk from "Turgidtoro's" Weho bungalow.

It's also just my personal opinion that ads with " professional stylized " photos should also include regular cell phone or candid photos too.. so people can get a better idea of what you look like in day to day life. An ad with nothing but pro photos CAN be an inaccurate representation but on the flip side an ad full of gonzo photos could be doing someone a disservice.. a combo of both seems to strike a happy medium at least that's what's worked for me.

There's definitely a fine line between few pictures and plenty of pictures.. ( historically, we do have to deal with what we call " pic collectors " ) When I do run my ad ( active ) I like to include a face photo, a smiling photo, a photo with clothes, totally nude, flaccid and erect, AND my current condition .. so when someone asks me for more photos I kindly tell them that if 27 photos aren't enough 270 photos won't be enough. There have been guys in the past that never showed their faces and were able to get away with it.. they had zero problems staying busy and they didn't seem to care that it was a deal breaker for some ( Colton RIP and Dr.Mike ) Ironically, both had great faces and most would consider them incredibly good looking.

@Starlight77That's why it was important for me to let you know that it's quite common. I'm not exaggerating when I I say I've heard it many times. And if it was something that was going to fulfill a fantasy, no harm done and it's fun, I would be happy to do it over and over 🙂

First of all, I just would like to say that the OP's fantasy is a little more common than most would think... I've been told many times that it would be so cool to meet at a bar and have me come in a bit later, sit down next to, strike up a conversation and after a few drinks leave together... not necessarily around someone's friends, but just people in a bar in general... it's a fantasy I've heard many times and it get it.... Here's where my story comes in.... years ago someone that Zeb Atlas and I used to travel together with threw a 50th birthday party for his partner..... he flew out like 12 of their closest friends to Las Vegas and put them all up in hotel rooms for a weekend.. he had the clever idea to hire two male strippers to "entertain" this dozen. His partner knew about us and the travel but he didn't want anyone else to know just how "familiar" we were... in fact we were told to pretend that we knew no one... I remember Zeb and I waiting in the bar downstairs at the Wynn waiting for the green light 🚦 ( a text to cum up ) everything went according to plan and this particular suite had a massage room, and we took each and everyone of his guests in there to give private...... even the few shy ones got an opportunity to be not so shy 🤣 I think the whole ordeal lasted two + hours. Everybody was super happy and the wonderful part of the story is that years later he came clean to every single person that was there.... after he retired, I suppose he felt a bit more comfortable coming clean. He says those that were in attendance still talk about that night years later and my dear friends now hubby says it's probably his most memorable birthday 🎉 party 🎈 The funny part was that a few of them said they had a recognized us from the Internet 🛜 😜

And by the way, I'm sorry that happened to you. Sometimes you're dealing with people who are volatile and or maladjusted ... I always say there are many people in the business that have no business in the business....

That's just playing more games... a no show.... that's a justification for being added to Mr. Number and another reason for working guys to tell their working friend pals to also ignore and never respond to those that no show... Over the years I've had people I've never met before cancel on me ... I make a note, generally if it's within 12-24 hours before we were set to meet they generally don't hear from me again unless they offer to make it right at which point I make a discretionary call about taking cancellation money; more often than not I don't take it and tell them just the fact that they offered tells me they are someone I'd still be interested in connecting with. If you can believe it or not, in all my years, I've never knocked on a door and had someone not be there nor have I ever had no-show. If I did, they would be blocked and they would never hear from me again. It sounds harsh, but in the long run, it reduces the wasting of time, energy and the playing of games. I don't get many cancellations or flakes because I've sifted and filtered out a lot of the folks who don't value my time or those of my fellow men of the night.
