I only have one small tattoo, which I'm still fairly happy with. It is their near permanence that has made me hesitate to get more. As I understand it, the problem with laser tattoo removal, other than being expensive, time-consuming and painful, is that success is not assured. You can't be certain how well your particular tattoo will respond until you begin the process. There could be textural changes, paradoxical darkening or only partial fading. I have seen some partially removed tattoos that look worse than if they'd been left alone.
