I’m with you @BnaC. I prefer to own rather than rent and have successfully replaced batteries on this and prior iPhones. I’d consider a plan similar to the one you chose except I make extended trips to Asia to visit in-laws. There I have two options: pay AT&T $10 a day to continue service internationally or install a local SimCard. To do that I need to own my phone. So for now I’ll keep this old iPhone 6S plus and save up for a new model.

This Texan in Laredo lost neither power or water maybe because we're within 2 miles of the airport. It snowed briefly Sunday with no accumulation. We fired up a pot of 4 alarm chili con carne and warmed up from the inside out. Friends were with out power for 4 days. We finally had to go out for errands Wednesday. Golds Gym, all Starbucks and Popeyes were closed for lack of power and drive-in lines at Whataburger were out the parking lot and down the street.

I’m about to make the same call. Here in south Texas Sirius is appropriate. There are few FM stations and none of them play classical music. And in Texas all drives (except local errands) are long drives. But long drives are for now a distant memory and we only listen to two channels: Symphony Hall (74) and the Metropolitan Opera recently moved to 355 which is beyond the radio’s range. Fortunately I didn’t toss out all my old CD’s.
