  1. Saw a preview perf yesterday. Really enjoyed it....great singing by all the leads. A bit short at 1 hour 45 mins but a tuneful night at the theatre with all her great hits intact. The out of town critics gave it mixed reviews so not expecting much better here in NYC, a tough town. The sold out audience really enjoyed it. The last 10 mins almost blew the roof off of the theatre LOL. I enjoyed it much more than Jersey Boys.
  2. Very new but promising....use extreme discretion and caution when meeting strangers. A lot of crazies out there as I am sure you would gather. You can also post your own ad on Doublelist but they require an E-Mail address
  3. Doublelist.com is a fairly good replacement for Craigs
  4. This movie deals with only some of the lies about Vietnam. Inexcusable as they were, the lies told by the Americans were relatively small beer. It was our Communist enemies who told the big lie — that war was a struggle for liberation by Vietnam’s noble comrades, who took on the Americans with pitchforks. What hooey. The truth is that the war was a conquest of free South Vietnam by a well-armed, Soviet-backed regime in the north. At the end, the enemy emerged from the jungles with tanks and surface-to-air missiles. The Pentagon Papers disclosed that our own leaders, in effect, refused to heed evidence that we would lose the war — and sent our troops anyway. “The Post” seems to buy into this theory. Yet it wasn’t sending troops that turned out to be the error. Rather, it was assuming we couldn’t win. On the ground in Vietnam, our GIs did just that. In the most famous battle, Tet in 1968, our soldiers trounced the Communists. The cause of free Vietnam was betrayed in the US Congress, which had been turned by the anti-war movement.
  5. Cats is still the best musical on Bdway. Closes soon. See it and enjoy !!!
  6. Price is still 85 I think but with tips we are talkiing 140+ and all this for a mediocre massage at best....stay away
  7. I fully agree....have had similar experiences here....NOW very costly and NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!!
  8. Love to see Streisand take over from Bette in Jan....maybe give her an offer she cannot refuse like lots of $$$ and 5 perfs a week
  9. Been to Greenhouse several times and only once was I happy . Not recommended. Basic massage most of the time and I MEAN BASIC.
  10. I agree....Super mens spa is expensive with so so massages. There are much better ones around
  11. I fully agree. This place is a rip-off. Been there 3 times and only one of the massages was ok. The $ 85 fee is too high! I go to the spa at 28 th/ 6th ave where $50 will get you a great massage always with satisfaction at the end.
  12. Sorry, I meant cast recordings....and Bette's is the best of the group
  13. I am sure it will enter the Billboard top 200 in the top 10 the first week !!! Not an easy task for a Bdway show to accomplish!
  14. Sounds great to me....wait, not only great, but beats all Dolly soundtracks with the exception of the movie with Babs.
  15. Your comments about Hello Dolly are way off base. 99% of the reviews were outstanding. I saw it in a preview and was overwhelmed. Midler is NOT too old for the part and her singing was super ! Pierce was so good that A tony is waiting for him. The show is sold out thru August.
  16. Saw Bette in Hello Dolly.......5 stars for the show and Bette!!! Highly recommended that you get a good orch seat or first 3 rows in Fr Mezz
  17. Disagree...I FEEL she was perfect in the movie and not too young. Great acting, funny as hell and great singing. What more can you ask. The rest of the cast was great too.Gene Kelly (or was it Babs) did a great job in directing. ?
  18. But wow her singing those songs made the movie so great !!
  19. How about the movie with Barbra? I loved it and Barbra was superb!!! I have watched it numerous times
  20. Just got my ticket for Bette Midler's Hello Dolly and not cheap!Used StubHub as I wanted to see the show soon (early Apr in Previews) and did not want to wait for Sept or Oct. The show is pretty much sold out until then. And I got an orch seat too.
