    Freezing??? 😆

Yep. The wind blows right through you. It's summer. I want to wear shorts and t-shirts, not a parka. Ok, maybe not literally freezing, but it is VERY cold.

I think data/SMS messaging would be enough for me that trip. I’ll probably get my usual 30 day  ATT plan, but I need a simple plan like e-sim for a friend I’m flying in and joining me mid-trip.

I just checked Airlo to see what they had for Greece - 7 day, 1 GB for $5, 30 day 3 GB for $9, 30 day 5 GB for $13, 30 day 10 GB for $25 (all US $)

I'm heading to Mexico next week. I'll purchase my e-sim before I leave and have it all set up and then just turn it on when I land. Going to see if I can get an Uber from the airport instead of a taxi. This is going to make travel a lot easier for me.

Never heard of the e-sim? I’m with ATT and I’ve always just bought one of their 30 day international 30 days plans when I’ve travelled before.

So I’m headed to Greece in September for two weeks, this sounds like an option.

Is it voice and text messaging?

The one I had was only data, but it worked because people I was communicating with used WhatsApp. I have a cheapie cell plan with MetroPCS and they didn't have an international option. I would have had to change to T-Mobile, which was twice the price. This was a great option for me. Sounds like you have two options now, but if you want voice, then better to go with ATT.

  4. I went to Guadalajara many years ago and met lots of guys. There was a cruisy park in the pedestrian part of the center near the large church. I was approached by guys. Not sure about how it works now, but Grindr is probably a better and easier way to meet guys. There's a huge gay scene there and it's a very large city, so I think your chances are good. I met a really hot soldier in the park (parque revolution) one night. Still think about him. Also saunas were quite active. I was staying in a hotel, but had no problems bringing guys back to my room. I'd like to go back and get an Airbnb.

Like I said, it has been a while for me, but I had a good experience there. I'd say go for it!

  5. I've had some luck on Grindr, but mostly when I travel. I seem to live in a sex desert.

But the newest scam I'm encountering are these hot Asian guys. They usually have several professional quality photos and one of them is either the guy with a puppy or with a fancy car. Recently, one sent me a message that said, "May the fusion of you and me rub out a thick fragrance." - his profile said "You are like chocolate in my mouth, melted by my enthusiasm." Quite poetic. Too bad he wasn't real. Most of them are looking for love, friendship and a long term relationship. They've never stuck with me long enough to get to the scam they're playing. Usually I tell them I work for the FBI in the Internet Fraud division and they block me.

Question since I'm not a Grindr guy; (tried it briefly until I was at the gym drooling over profiles of 2 hot but headless guys within 50 FEET of me and via the tats was able to pick them out and see the REALITY which was WAY diff lol)   But I am considering hopping back on.

Does Grindr BAN the use of the word GEN in profiles??  And if so are there any other "catch" words to look out for that say a guy is "working"?  Thnx

I think anything is ok on Grindr until someone reports it. I've seen "gen" and other catch phrases on Grindr. Once I made the mistake of saying something (can't remember now) and I got reported and banned. I had to beg them to let me back on (I was paying for Grindr Extra). In the US, Grindr is pretty worthless (at least where I live), but I just got back from Colombia, and I definitely got my money's worth there. It also works for me in Mexico. They were pretty up front if they were looking for money and I had no problems.

In a few months, I’m taking a provider on vacation with me. We’re looking forward to it. He’s someone I vibe with and it’ll be fun. Sex and sites. All around.

I want to take my own phone along. Who’s done that? What’s entailed in getting an international “plan?” We’re travelling over April into May. Will it require two months of an upgraded plan? It seems like a lot to pay for a week…How has that worked for any of you who’ve travelled abroad. The last time I was abroad, I lived in Germany for months so I just got a phone plan. This will just be a week…I’ll need a phone, but can’t fathom getting a local “plan” for a week.

I just found out about something called an e-sim. It's an electronic sim card. I downloaded the Airalo app, and then purchased my e-sim for a week, then renewed it. They have plans for 190 countries or something like that. Originally, I had a local sim installed in an old phone, but that all fell apart when I ran the update on the phone. From now on, I'm using the e-sim.
