I knew a masseur who would choose whether to keep the appointment based on seeing the client walk up through his peephole. He told me about this practice to make me feel like I was ‘chosen’ or met some unknown criteria. I think he expected me to be grateful. Instead, I was so offended that I never saw him again on principle. This type of behavior is rude and unprofessional, I hope others don’t support these providers. And, I’m sorry you got ghosted after making it to the appointment
