I arrived on time and had to wait and wait and wait. The more time that I spent waiting in that room-- the more pissed I became. {I did not have a long wait five or more years prior.} Finally, my name was called; I tagged along, went into the curtained-off but spacious cubicle, answered the questions of the medical assistant, dressed in that gown and lay on the too short gurney and was covered with an extended heated blanket/sheet. I was so alarmed that at one point I thought about getting up and dressing and finally exiting. Well, I calmed down; the medical assistant entered to give me the anesthesia. Unfortunately, he had difficulty finding my veins, so he called for another individual to do this. Again, I was on the verge of telling all concerned to forget it. Great, she found a vein in my hand and was successful. The doctor came into this waiting area for half of a second. Minutes later I was wheeled into the room for the procedure; my eyes surveyed and scanned the equipment. The assistants and doctor were in the room, and that is all that I can relay. That anesthesia went to work rather quickly. The next thing that I remember is that I'm back inside of the curtained cubicle; the doctor entered and gave me the positive outcome and abruptly exited. Could he not had been a little more personable? (...no bed side manners here!) I dressed and was helped to a comfortable wheelchair that looked to have had a leather seat and back and rendered a lot of comfort. From that point, an assistant pushed me outside to the van that awaited me. ...onward home. That was my experience about the wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, and more wait. I am elated that it's over: the wait, wait, wait...

04.22/22. A year or so ago, I received a letter from my physician advising me that I had not had a colonoscopy in five years. I let a few months pass before I made my appointment to see him. After the consultation, I set the date for the procedure. Because of the pandemic, I thought seriously about following through and didn't; a few weeks later I canceled. Early in 2022, I visited him again and made the appointment for the colonoscopy; it happened two days ago, and I received a positive evaluation after the procedure. Because of my age, he relayed that I DID NOT have to have any more colonoscopies. I smiled and said: "thank God." This time the prep was a charm. I purchased what I needed and took as prescribed. I did NOT mind having NOT to consume any solid foods. I drank glasses of water and a few glasses of apple juice. The prep formula itself: I mixed with water and drank every five minutes or so as prescribed, and did not give a lot of thought about what I endured. I think folks dwell far too much on the prepping; I think you'd handle and manage it by eliminating the thought behind not being able to "EAT" solid foods but having to drink a lot of fluid, etc. In looking back three days after, I applaud myself in taking this experience in stride and not dwelling and hating to consume lots of water (fluids) and Miralax.

Since Covid has reacked havoc on the world, I'd wait a year or two to venture to Cuba. Apparently, this country has had a vastly difficult time (the embargo impeding everything as well.). Also, if you don't speak any Espanol, it is highly advised that you have a guide. I am one of those persons. [English is NOT widely spoken.]. Also, buy a foreign currency, Euros or Canadian dollars since a hefty fee is charged when one exchanges the dollar for the Cuban currency.
