"Versatile/top" has no set meaning, in my experience anyway. For some it means he's fully versatile, although better at or prefers being a top. For some it means he can be versatile but reserves declining to bottom depending on the client and/or his mood. For some it means he's orally versatile but not anally. For some it also means he upcharges for bottoming.
