Firstly, this does not belong in the Australian section.

 

Mid-January there is to be an Aussie business trade thingie or whatever in LA. Promotion of Aussie goods. Greg Norman golf classic. Show by Steve Irwin, etc.

 

But on Sunday 15 Jan, there is an exhibition game of Aussie rules. Realizing that it only has a cult following in the US, thought I would bring it to your attention.

 

Very exciting, fast paced game. The blokes wear shorts and sleeveless shirts. No padding.

 

The game is to be played at UCLA on Sunday afternoon, 15 Jan. between the Sydney Swans and the Melbourne Kangaroos-boo, hiss.

 

The Swans are Sydney's only team but considered the glamour team of the competition. Like most glamour teams, they never won a premiership for 72 years. But this was the year. We beat a Perth team in front of 92,000 fans.
