Starting this Veteran’s Day (11th) all veterans with “good paper” discharges are eligible to use the online Armed Forces Exchange website for personal purchases. AAFES purchases are typically tax free and may include free shipping. You have to establish eligibility thru a sign up process:

MGM Properties in Vegas offers an upgraded player’s Card (Pearl) that gives holders of a military ID card free self parking. Go to an MLife Customer Service Counter with your military ID to obtain the special card. Retirees are eligible. Most MGM properties are located on the southern portion of The Strip.

If you’re in Vegas this weekend highly recommend the Air and Space Expo at Nellis Air Force Base. Shows are Saturday and Sunday and entry is free. You must park at the Las Vegas Speedway and take one of the free shuttle buses onto the base. There are static displays of aircraft and equipment that you can up close to. The precision flying airshow is impressive. Go early. Last year they had to turn people away due to crowd size. Thunderbirds fly at 2pm. Click on the various tabs for schedule and info. Pay attention to the Prohibited Items tab.
