Hello all,

Would you guys kindly give me some advice on a hotel/resort/B&B to celebrate New Year's? I am hoping for a place north of San Francisco to escape the mayhem of the city. I am looking for some of these attributes: LGBT friendly, low key, romantic ambiance, cocktail lounge, restaurant, hot tub, comfortable bed... I hope is not too late to make reservations for that evening. Thanks in advance for any advice...

Most things north or south of San Francisco, along the coastal regions, will be LGBT friendly. Most of Norcal is, for that matter, although moving inland, you can encounter some intolerance. Dont be afraid to ask when making a reservation.

Consider Mendocino-by-the-Sea. Or Northern Sonoma, Mendocino Counties' wine regions... lots of little B&B or inns within walking distance of restaurants, bars, etc.

I liked Heritage House, just outside Mendocino. We didnt have a hot tub, but I believe some oceanside rooms do.

If you want to stay a little closer to SF... consider Bodega Bay (Bodega Bay Lodge is nice) or south to Aptos... (Seascape Resort)

Thanks for the tips... My web search so far was pointing towards Sausalito, but will look into Mendocino, Bodega Bay, and south of Aptos. I'll take your advice and ask about being LGBT friendly at the time of the reservation... Best.

Sausalito is much closer. If you want to stay relatively close, Bodega Bay or Half Moon Bay

Thanks... Close to the Bay Area will work best. But, will have to plan a trip to Mendocino-by-the-sea. I also am wondering if Calistoga would have some nice resort place... I'll keep searching in the meantime.

I have no personal knowledge of this B&B in Calistoga

I loved the lodge at Tiburon, which is North of San Francisco. Relaxed and nice view a short walk away.

Thanks for this recommendation... I checked out their website and looks nice. Cheers.

Avalon, thanks... This looks pretty good. It's a little up north from San Francisco, but it's being listed by this agency "purpleroofs" which covers the LBTGQIA (LBTG Questioning Intersex Asesxual) o_O community. I am going to see what else purpleroofs have on resorts/hotels/B&Bs. Cheers.
