In 2003, Rush Limbaugh was arrested for prescription fraud and this issue burst onto the national stage.

Now it's arguably one of today's most prevalent and pressing health problems.

With the warning signs so obvious and now decades old, who is to blame for anyone falling into this trap called addiction?

I just want to say that was shocking last year to see the Republicans turned populist and feel sorry about folks (white) who abuse legal and illegal drugs instead of calling them "poor of spirit", "weak", "immoral", etc. Obviously when any kind of drug abuse happens in the inner cities the answer is not the same.

Anyone interested in the historical perspective of the opiate drug addiction, epidemic, in America should read "Dreamland" by Dan Quinones.

A Pandora's box has been opened and this humongous problem is among us and not likely to be eradicated, or adequately controlled, in our lifetimes. The problem goes across BOTH party lines as well, there is more than enough blame to go around in Washington DC and ANY State capitol. The legislative branches have been allowed to dig deep into Big Pharma's pockets for such a long time, they have an addiction of their own called greed. My 2 Lincolns worth.

Since I'd be one of those 1 in 3 if I could afford it. I'm grateful that I now live in a state where I can go down the street and obtain CBT Oil with the only requirement that I show them my drivers license.

It's a more effective night time pain control for my diabetic neuropathy and I find myself getting a more restful sleep cycle.
