A friend recently invited me to see On the Waterfront at The Warner Grand Theater in LA. Karl Malden's daughter spoke beforehand and predicted if anyone hadn't seen it they were in for a treat. She was right. I was impressed, especially with Brando. Such acting in that role! So I decided to watch another Brando movie. Last night I watched Streetcar Named Desire. Besides his acting prowess I was struck by his beauty including his physique when his shirt came off.

Equal time for Vivien Leigh who could play a wide range of roles.

I saw her on stage in a musical in the 1960s called "Tovarich." Vivien played the nutty maid in "The Skin of Teeth" in London. The maid was first played on Broadway by Tallulah Bankhead.

I have included a bit of Leigh in "The Skin of Our Teeth."

I saw "Streetcar" at the cinema in '98 when Warner Bros. celebrated its 75th anniversary. After watching Stella slink down the stairs to Stanley, I was ready for a post-coital cigarette.
