I am in the very very early stages of planning a quick weekend trip to sobe in Oct. I have been there once before last July/Aug. a week before the wonderful hurricanes hit :o My questions are one what is the weather like in Oct. down there? And two last time I stayed down there I stayed at the Hotel Clinton. Nice hotel good service blah blah blah but would anyone have any other suggestions that would be around the same quality of the Hotel Clinton that is in the same area or very near by? I don't care about the clubs or shopping I am just going for the warm sunny yummy beach.

Hugs,

Greg

Hello Greg,

As a Florida native, I can tell you it will most likely still be very warm and sunny in October....as long as those pesky hurricanes stay away. Mid-80s most likely...but possibility for 90s or 70s.

My favorite place to stay on South Beach is the Royal Palm Crowne Plaza...next door to Loew's Hotel about a block or two north of Ocean Drive. I'm not sure how it compares to the Clinton. I've also stayed at the Cardozo Hotel on Ocean Drive near the gay beach and the Bentley (which is the most expensive of the three).

Enjoy SOBE and we'll try to keep the hurricanes away for you.

Greg,

I was in SOBE last October barely dodging the last hurricane of the season! The weather during my week was awesome...beautiful days and the nights were very comfortable. Due to the hurricanes last year and the corresponding loss of tourist income, the hotels drastically reduced their rates during my week (as did some of the dancers & escorts!) As such I ended up cancelling my reservation at an oceanfront resort in FLL and instead booked the SOBE Marriott for about 1/2 of what I was originally going to be charged. I would make sure any reservations made this far in advance have liberal cancellation policies. Have fun!

I was in SOBE late July early August last year a week before the hurricanes started to hit. I had a pretty good deal at the Clinton hotel, stay 3 nights get the forth free or something like that. The shopping was good a bit pricy for the same stuff I can get here but the beaches were nice much much much better then the west coast where the water is freakin cold! Go in lookin like a man below come out lookin like a girl down below. Right now I am still browsing the hotels and the reviews from tripadvisor.com seeing if anything other then the Clinton hotel catches my eye.

Hugs,

Greg
