As I understand it, Backpage is likely to be crushed under the weight of prosecution for enabling sex trafficking, particularly of minors and is likely to go out of business soon. For example, see the following thread.

Although the above quotes are humorous, unfortunately the quotes are not far off the mark for appropriateness.

 

A year or so ago, Backpage was occasionally a good source for finding decent escorts, depending in the city viewed.

 

Currently, based on my own experience and word from a good friend who is an expert for scouting out bonafide escorts, Backpage is now heavily filled with liars, druggies, thieves and worse.

 

Like I said, Backpage is "heavily filled" with bad guys, there is the exception where it might be possible to find an honest escort from that site.

 

It all depends on what risk one is willing to take in engaging a guy from Backpage.

 

Considering that rentmen and other escorts sites have recently been stripped of useful information about escorts advertising on that site, Backpage might regain some of its former popularity.

Backpage for London, UK has provided me some "good" hires......also in Toronto & Montreal.....my first time hiring Christian Power was from his BP Montreal ad.....we've lived happily ever after.....an occasional hour or 2 at a time.

Backpage used to equate to "Danger, Will Robinson, danger!" in my book, but you have a point, with the recent changes to RM we may see a rise in popularity.
