Howdy,

 

Sadly, it appears that my homeland (and burbs) is now the number one producer of crystal meth in the South. Atlanta is the number one consumer of that produced meth. Florida receives quite a bit of its meth from TN too.

 

The heartbreaking part comes from the almost daily reports on local Nashville news of exploding apartments, trailers and homes resulting in a staggering increase in burn victims(men, women, teens, children) being treated at Vanderbilt's Burn Unit. Tn's Child and Family Services employees are working their asses off to find foster care for children who have been removed from homes due to parental addiction/production. And, because of all the fumes when cooking up solvents, draino, lighter fluid and the laundry list of other flammable substances that go into the pot to make a hot-n-horny Saturday night at the club, many of these kids have all this shit in their bloodstreams just from exposure. Plus,one spark of static electricity can blow you straight to hell when folks are cooking up meth.

 

I know crystal is the rage at every purple or pink circuit party. I could sit here for hours and talk about friendships lost, dealings with junkies or escorts just eaten alive by this stuff. Instead, I'm hoping that all the articles I see in every local gay paper I read when traveling or news accounts I see on TV in almost every city will jolt folks and bring them back to their senses.

 

 

Cos this is WAAAAY more out of control than just being considered recreational.
