These are lyrics from a song from a boy band from Romania, I believe. Yes, I know I am 14 but I would love to know what this song means.

Thanks.

VDN

Ma-ia-hii

Ma-ia-huu

Ma-ia-hoo

Ma-ia-haa

Alo Salut sunt eu un haiduc

Si te rog iubirea mea primeste fericirea.

Alo alo sunt eu Picasso

Ti-am dat beep si sunt voinic

Dar sa stii nu-ti cer nimic.

x5

Chorus x2

Vrei sa pleci dar nu ma nu ma iei

Nu ma nu ma iei nu ma nu ma nu ma iei.

Chipul tau si dragostea din tei

Mi-amintesc de ochii tai.

Te sun sa-ti spun ce simt acum

Alo iubirea mea sunt eu fericirea.

Alo alo sunt iarasi eu Picasso

Ti-am dat beep si sunt voinic

Dar sa stii nu-ti cer nimic.

Chorus x2

Ma-ia-hii

Ma-ia-huu

Ma-ia-hoo

Ma-ia-haa

x4

Thanks, what an interesting site! Makes me want to visit Romania. I'd love to hear this song.

BTW, Haiduk doesn't really mean "outlaw", but rather Gypsy. Of course, if you're a Gypsy in Romania, it's one and the same.

Hi,

I can't translate the song but Ozone is not from Romania, it's a boys band from MOLDAVIA. (before WW2, this country was called bassarabia)

Moldavia is a republic with a common border with Romania, a republic where the people is romanian speaking.

The only part of Moldavia which is Russian speaking is Transnistria.

Beside that, Moldavia is a very poor country but the country churches are beautiful,

bye

Sure seems to have lost something in translation. At least I hope it makes more sense in the original. Not nearly as sensible as the 40s tune "I'm looking over a four-leaf clover" or the Elvis number from the 50s "Don't You Step on My Blue Suede Shoes." Now I'm showing my age. ;-)

Hey Trix,

Literally "haiduk" in eastern European countries means an "outlaw" and the original meaning is: a man or group of people fighting against the established regime and usually living isolated and hiding in the mountains.

Gypsy is "tzigan"

... and this is not from the Internet ... ;)

"Moldavia is a republic with a common border with Romania, a republic where the people is romanian speaking."

Who remembers Ghostbusters II (at least I think it was that one) ? Vigo , the evil trying to be resurrected being, was "Lord of Moldavia."

BTW, I think the song is a remake of Backstreet Boys, "I want it that way"
