It takes so much courage to emigrate not knowing the language of your adopted country. I'm proud that my parents each individually had that courage, and later meet in their new land. I remember my mother saying it was very difficult communicating. Sometimes she would think people were talking about her. Perhaps that's why they married, because they had the same ethnic background, and similar struggles. They had little formal education, but worked hard and persevered, becoming homeowners. Whenever I meet someone with an accent, I know they know more languages, and perhaps more struggles than most of us.

I agree with you nothing is more libertarian than an immigrant, legal or illegal.
