Grandma's House

This doesn't really have anything to do with escorts, or being gay, or anything like that, but still... .

I frequently dream about being at my grandma's house. It was the place I spent most family vacations at, the very "heart and soul" of our family. Few holidays were not celebrated at that house with major extended gatherings. But, in my dreams, the house is being emptied, people are moving on. I usually find myself on the roof of the house, unwilling to go. I am able to jump/hover/fly down if I need to (you know, that strange ability to "fly" we all have in our dreams.).

Despite wanting to be there, I usually find myself fleeing the house and into the "city" (a dream-world creation based on the small "main street" of the town where my grandparents lived) to find my "people"- other gays.

 

This is a dream that has played over in my sleepytime many, many times. Anyone care to interpret it? Anyone have similar dreams?

Hey Trix...I think the family home is a very powerful symbol. I've had 2 such homes, my grandparents (who built a very unique home while I was a child...I remember visiting the construction site), and my parents who owned our family home for nearly 40 years. My dreams are the opposite of yours in that I dream the the homes are still in the family, and that I had dreamed that they had been sold. I assume it's a strong sense of loss that I feel. If I were to interpret your dream I would suggest a sense of loss conflicted with a strong desire for independence.
