Movies-any make you proud you are gay?

Ah, I showed "Doing Time on Maple Drive" to my students in senior English a few years back. The theme of the course was "The Human Condition" so I thought it fitting to use. That year I showed five or six films that had gay-related themes: they fit the curriculum and were a silent way of my coming out covertly to my students.

 

I didn't want to do this overtly based on the California ,John Steinbeck, community in which I successfully taught. I wasn't strong enough to fight the bigotry, the ignorance, and the intolerance that prevailedf during that time.

I have seen a few gay movies and there always pretty funny or very touching of course I cant rember there names and the last time I watched a gay oriented movie was with my ex….and that was years ago.

 

On a side note though I don’t think any single movie can show a culture as there are many angles to it, this includes in my opinion all cultures.
