Couture/Are there any regular models left?

These are two burning issues and hopefully they will start getting the space in the public consciousness that they deserves but...

 

Anytime you ever hear a model referenced on TV, no matter if they are well known or not, they are referred to as a SUPERmodel. Aren't there any just regular old models any more? Shouldn't "supermodel" be where the beanie baby craze is now? a little early 90s, huh?

 

Also, any designer clothing is now generically referred to as couture. Isn't couture a little more specific than that? Envision a master craftsmen (craftspersons?) hand beading a gown at a workshop in Paris.

 

Please, let us resolve this. Let us not go into a new year with these questions outstanding.

Oh yes!!! I SO agree. Why, good heavens - there is no other subject on the face of the earth that even comes close to the importance of the two excrutiating problems you were kind enough to bring to our attention.

 

These must also be of prime importance to millions of people in Asia right now, who have nnothing else to worry about.
