People either love or hate Barcelona. I'm most definitely in the latter group. I find the Catalans insufferably arrogant and condescending toward the rest of Spain. I tend to get sea sick whenever I look at Gaudi’s architecture. The city is also overrun with North African refugees hawking all sorts of trash. The Catalans are constantly demanding independence and frankly I believe the rest of Spain would be better off without the entire area.

Even if I found large crowds enjoyable, which I don’t, I would be highly hesitant to attend a gather of 70,000 gays in a city with thousands of Muslim refugee residents. I would be hard pressed to find a better target for terrorist attack. Most definitely NO THANK YOU!

I fell in love with Barcelona when I was there in 2012 and do desire to return, but the number cited here regarding this particular "Gayfest" is way too overwhelming for me. I much prefer smaller, intimate groups to play and party and enjoy the people and cultural attributes!!! ...nada, an emphatic "NO!" :(:(
