I've used the same Yahoo e-mail address for years without having any trouble at all until the last couple of months. At least a dozen times I've e-mailed someone, waited a few days for a response (no response came), and then e-mailed them again to ask if they received the first one and they had not. The recipients are all reliable and keep their inboxes up to date, so I don't think they've inadvertently deleted them or something like that. I supposed every time this has happened the recipient could just be ignoring me (I would never be able to deal with this kind of rejection . . . :( ) but I don't think so, since I do hear from them in response to the second inquiry.

Anyone had a similar problem? Thoughts on what might be happening?

About the only thing I could think of is for some reason your message might be winding up in their junk mail folder.

I've used Yahoo for years, with no problems.

But every once in a while, there has been a legit email wind up in my junk folder. Maybe 5 total in 5 years.

The rate of SPAM was increased significantly on the Internet. At the start of the year, I was getting perhaps a hundred or so in a day. Currently, it's up to a thousand or so a day.

Several of the "Public" web driven mail sites have been going to fairly extreme methods of filtering. It's actually becoming a critical problem for the Message Center because some of the functions depend on the email getting through.

For example, if you request a new password the process is automatic and generates an email. If you don't get the email, your effectively locked out. The only solution is for me to reset it manually, and that requires two way communications to be successful.

We may eventually have to reject registration requests from some of the more aggressive mailing web sites as a result.

I too have been using Yahoo e-mail for a long time (almost five years) and have been very happy with them especially in comparison with Hotmail & Excite, other services which I've used. I've had no problems with people receiving my Yahoo messages. Yahoo is even better now since they've recently increased greatly the amount of storage capacity they allow their subscribers (anticipating their future competition with Googlemail). With regard to SPAM you are receiving, I strongly recommend you avail yourself of Yahoo's Bulk Folder feature which can separate practically all the junk you are getting from the legitimate messages you really want to read. It's easy to quickly eyeball your Bulk Mail in-box on a daily basis and then quickly delete them all with one click of your mouse if you chose to do so. Also messages in the Bulk Folder do not count toward your Yahoo storage allowance.

I've had friends tell me they receive a message saying their email to my personal email account can't get through and then, eventually it does, but it can be delayed by days.

Annoying, but if they really want to get in touch, they have my phone. The account I use for escorts gets almost no traffic at all so I don't seem to have a problem there.

I do like the gigabyte of storage I have on my professional yahoo acccount.
