Who's Your Daddy?

Continuing in the long tradition of me torturing you with Kpop, here's the latest from Psy: "Daddy" (with all due respect to the Daddy whose forum this is). (Use the closed captioning to turn on the English subtitles.)

 

 

I expect some of you will go "ew" over both the child Psy and the elderly Psy, but I appreciate that he celebrates all ages, sizes and genders. Love the middle-aged and elderly Korean ladies fawning over Psy Sr. as well as the look of disgust on the teacher's face, the physical comedy and Psy Sr. riding a ... scooter? motorized chair? over what is probably an iconic bridge in Seoul. Plus he is the bestest b-boy (breakdancer) evah.

 

The song owes a direct debt to Will.i.am's "

", so much so that the writers of that song are among those credited for this one, but the following Kpop song, "Who's Your Mama?", by J.Y. Park, the CEO of the eponymous JYP Entertainment, one of the Big 3 record labels/talent agencies in South Korea, is a more interesting contrast. I present it without further comment (though I really want to) other than to say it also has close captioned English subtitles.
