Just saw Catch Me If You Can for the second time. Good movie with Leonardo DiCaprio as the star backed up by Tom Hanks. Couldn't help but think at the end that if I were Carl Hanratty I would have kept Frank Abignale as my own personal lap dog. What was most interesting was at the beginning of the movie they showed a clip of the old TV series "What's my Line" or one of those (I can't seem to remember the name) in which the real Frank Abignale looks so much like little Leonardo it's eerie.

I've also seen this movie and liked a lot. It was good to see Leo back in top form. Besides Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks, I thought Christopher Walken was equally as impressive, I believe he was nominated for an Academy Award for his role. Not to forget Steven Spielberg in the directors chair, I thought he did a really good job and it was a departure for him of sorts. Considering earlier that year he had directed Tom Cruise and Colin Farrell in " Minority Report ". Overall " Catch Me If You Can " turned out to be from my point of view a really good movie.

You mentioned Frank Abingale and I remember when he was lent a hand to help promote the movie. Prior to the release of the movie, I didn't know anything about this person. I remember his appearances on MSNBC and the Charlie Rose Program. After listening to Mr Abingale, I thought at the time that this man was amazing. Not only did he cheat the system but he got away with it for so long and there was just one person in the entire FBI organisation who kept focus on this case and in the end nabbed him. As part of the plea bargain made him an offer to join the FBI and help catch fraudlant criminals. That's very unique for a person like Mr Abingale to have a second chance to redeem himself at start life again but through the old fashioned way of hard work. Now he's been married for a long time with three children, not bad for a life of crime.

Not too long ago I had a chance to watch " What's Eating Gilbert Grape " with Leonardo and Johnny Depp on DVD. Both actors gave strong performances. As for future, I cant wait to see Leonardo in Martin Scorcesse upcoming movie on the life and times of Aviation Pioneer Howard Hughes. Should be very interesting to see how this movie does at the box office later this year.
