Thailand: "The Land of Smiles" in September of 2004 (I hope!)

A week or so ago, I read the most marvelous thread from one of our cyberfriends regarding his impending visit to NYC. Many of you responded wonderfully, and after reading all of the posts, I decided to print and use it when I decide to venture there. Currently, I am thinking about going to Thailand, visiting and enjoying immensely Puhket, Pattaya, and of course, Bangkok. When I went twice before, I was with tour groups; this time I will be solo. I've checked farang_.com and Pattayagay.com and Utopia Tours; I've also put some other sites into my favorites' section, but I'd like to hear from you guys who've visited.

 

In each of the above named places, what suggestions do you have for hotels; I want comfort but not luxury; I'm in need of gay/gay friendly type lodgings. Besides the temples, what cultural venues would you suggest I go? What are the MUST go to clubs in all three places? In terms of guys-- I'd like my Thai guys to be 25+. My Thai preference is for guys who are similar to the ones at Tawaan in Bangkok, but they don't have to be exuding muscles exclusively. I like mature looking, attractive, active preferably, and a nice "talent" as has been used here previously. But your suggestions (if they differ from the above) will be taken seriously and more than likely honored.

 

Your suggestions will be much appreciated. I'm thinking about making my reservations soon, for I yearn the sun, the ease and warmth of the people, and everything positive that's associated with Thailand. Although I have been to Bangkok, Pattaya, Chang Rai and Chang Mai, I've never been to Phuket.

 

I thought I'd fly from LA to Bangkok and immediately go to Puhket, then onward to Pattaya, and lastly to Bangkok before heading back to the States and to Los Angeles.

I loved the Hotel Tartawan in Bangkok and would very happily stay there again.
