Help, please. How do I post a photograph I took here in the forum? I have not done it before. I looked at the FAQ, but the image does not have a www address; it is in "My Pictures" on my hard drive. Thank you.

Karl,

This has been discussed before.

If you wish to post a picture here where the text is you need to post the URL of the picture in question ending by .jpg

Go to http://geocities.yahoo.com/ and create a Geocities account then upload your picture there. Post the URL of your photo here on the board.

For exemple if you post http://www.geocities.com/stevendraker/ eiffel.jpg

will appear as

http://www.geocities.com/stevendraker/eiffel.jpg

Let me know if you have any questions.

Warm regards,

Steven ~

Steven,

Your picture comes up nice.

As you can see, I opened an account on Epson and have the jpeg posted there. But it does not come up here with a link.

I have an e-mail account with yahoo; I went to check on the web page, and there seems to be a lot of work and a lot of time involved in uploading images. I asked for a webpage and got the address, but what next? Do you use a template for a page, or where are you actually posting your pictures on Geocities? I'm sure this is obvious once I get through the process once, but so far I don't see the path clearly. Downloading Page Builder takes 47 minutes? Yikes.

Thanks,

Karl

Hi Karl,

I don't know what account you signed up for at Geocities but in order to hotlink you'll need the plus account as stated on their site:

Remote loading is linking to or accessing your GeoCities account files from a location other than your GeoCities site, such as auction sites. In other words, you can host all of your images on GeoCities then reference these images from any web site. Offered in - Plus, Pro.

I don't think Epson allows hotlinking..but you could post a link for people to go to the Epson site to view your images. In fact one of your early attempts here created a link and I got one of your pictures and put it on my Netscape webpage:

http://mywebpage.netscape.com/les111/View.jpg

Netscape remains one of the few webpages that are free and also allows remote loading. (hotlinking). Maybe you should sign up there?

Hope this helps, Les :7
