RAM is no problem. You will need software to scrub your hardrive. When a file is 'erased' or 'trashed' all that happens is the file name is removed from the master file directory and that physical disk space is reallocated for use. The entire file contents remain intact until that physical disk space has been overwritten. That can be a long time... maybe forever. You need either to reformat the disk from scratch destroying everything on it or less drastically, to obtain software that searches out the unallocated spaces and overwrites them. The US DOD standard requires that the disk space be overwritten three (3) times to guarantee that all previous data has been obliterated.

 

Being a Mac guy I cannot recommend Wintel software for your purpose. However, I'm sure that many will have suitable recommendations.
