I'm going to be going on an Australia-New Zealand cruise in two months, and I have been looking into the logistics of getting the Australian visa (US citizens like myself don't need a visa for New Zealand). What's strange is that it looks as if getting the visa via the Australian Embassy site costs A$20: The ETA does not attract a visa application charge. However, there is an AUD20 service fee for each ETA applicant.

Yet, when I put "Australian visa" on google, there seem to be sites which offer an even lower price of US$9.95, even though they don't seem directly affiliated with the Australian government:

Is this too good to be true? How did you guys get your visas? Are these 3rd party websites legitimate?

Do not nickel and dime your visa, it could mean a edgy visa, which if picked up will result in

: not being able to board your cruise

: deportation from Australia

: time spent in an immigration detention centre.

Not worth it for a $10.05 saving

+1

AUD 20 = USD 14 approximately

You will be spending thousands on your trip, yet you want to save USD 4 for a visa?

I used an experienced 3rd party when getting a visa for Russia because of the complexity of the questions asked on the visa application --- wanted somene with experience to look over my many answers. That's not necessary for Australia (had three Australian visas over the years).

Agree with oz_carter, and westernsyd.

Agreed with the above; that it's not worth the hassle to save a few US dollars to get into Aussie.

You bet your ass that Kiwis have sex. :D:rolleyes::D When I lived in Melbourne, Australia for two years a long, long time ago-- I had some of my best sex from two guys (singularly) who lived respectively in Sydney and Melbourne at the time! I can vividly remember the fun that we had. See if there is any information at http://www.gaycities.com for any of the major cities in New Zealand.
