Heart breaking gay love story

I was playing around on Youtube when I came across a documentary about two gay men who fall in love, and become partners. The title is "Gay Love Story: A Gay Documentary for the LGBT Community". The parents of one man, Shane, are supportive of his lifestyle whereas the parents of the other man, Tom, have a hard time accepting the fact that their son is gay and has a boyfriend. Eventually, Tom's parents SEEM to change their minds and accept their son's lifestyle. The couple is living a life of true love when tragedy strikes and Tom dies. What happens next is unbelievable and heartbreaking for Shane. If you don't want to know what happens don't read any further, however since this is just a documentary I'll let you know that Tom's parents screw over Shane by taking his body and most of his personal effects, then keep Shane away from the funeral. They even bury Tom between their plots, so there would never beany way Shane could ever be buried beside him. Like I said, it's heartbreaking and disturbing. Check it out on YouTube.

I've seen this a few times and it's never easy watching it. Like Shane, I lost my first love at an early age. But luckily for me his family was open to me and my experience was a positive one.

Greg...sorry for your loss. I just can't imagine how I would feel if I lost someone who was like a spouse to me, then be denied the right to go to the funeral. It's hard to believe people can be so hateful. I admire Shane for not lashing out at Tom's parents. I don't think I could have been that mature. I wonder if Tom's parents had any backlash for their actions especially after the documentary came out.

Well, Shane could be cremated and his ashes placed on top of Tom's grave.
