Some time ago I posted about moving on from a breakup. I've been seriously depressed about it for months. In June my ex moved to a different city to live with and eventually marry his new boyfriend. I've traded a few stiff emails with him but he has not provided any knowledge of what's going on with his new boyfriend nor have I asked.

I've taken the position of leaving him alone with the hope that over ten years of knowing each other would lead him to re establish communication at some point.

Now I wonder: is there any way I could win him back? He's halfway across the country and I assume he's happy with the new guy. Should I just keep emailing every month or so or should I say bluntly that if things are going well for them then great but if not let's talk?

Thanks. I hope this is not too personal for this forum.

Over all I say let him be. Express that if things in gwneral go south for him that you are there for him if he needs someone to talk to. I personally rarely completely shut and lock the door. For anyone in my life if theres been a bump I always leave the door slightly open.

Hugs,

Greg

Seaboy has it right..."Let him be". You can leave the door open, but don't constantly keep in contact. Give him some room, and allow him to move on, and you should also. I would think an occasional text or email wishing him well would suffice for now. Good luck....

If he wants contact with you, he'll initiate it. Otherwise, leave it alone.

I agree. You and others who expressed the same thought are right. You are being rational. It is SO hard. We are human beings after all - and not rational at all.
