The first thing you have to ask is do you still like hiring. Second-and I'm not criticizing-but is it the guys you are picking out? Are they possibly on the very young side or newbies to the business? While there's no guarantee that older escorts make the best escorts, I'm usually leery of guys from the ages of 18-23 or so.

 

But it may not be any of those things-as you say it is a series of disinterested escorts-maybe it is just a bad patch of hiring for you.

Gman... You raise an interesting question. While I do tend to prefer younger guys physically (and often dabble in play with them in "non-commercial" settings), my experiences with older guys have generally been more fulfilling. That is something I need to foreground in my decision making process!

 

BTW: the guy that inspired me to write my posting ("the 35 minute thief" I will call him for brevity's sake) told me in response to my question about his life that his sole money making venture is escorting. Food for thought.

I think it depends on why one hires. Like many of us I hired because I had self esteem problems and it seemed so easy. But a few months of hitting the gym hard and getting a personal trainer does a lot for your self esteem (I know, how shallow can you be). I guess if you're very picky about a particular look or age that may be another reason to hire, but I can find something attractive in just about any guy; I'm more concerned about what the person is like as another human being. I also realized that the "hottest" encounter I had had while hiring wasn't with an escort, but with another forum member. The escort who stood me up actually did me a huge favor because I realized that hiring an escort with all positive reviews isn't a guarantee of anything. So if there are plenty of horny guys around, and hiring an escort isn't always that easy and fuss free, why bother? It's a lot more rewarding for some of us to work on our self esteem and find someone you're not paying - you may be amazed at how easy and satisfying it is.

I find this topic very interesting and learned a lot just reading all the comments. I have been hiring for 25+ years now, started when I was in my mid-20s. From my perspective, the reason it works (for me) is that when I find a guy a like, I give him a lot of repeat business. Some of my escort/client relationships have spanned 5 years, some even longer. I am not continuously looking for the 'next' guy. When you give somebody repeat business, a level of trust, confidence, camaraderie even is established which makes it all worthwhile. And that is why I am not giving up.

I know an Escort who has about 25 Reviews. ALL positive. Out of Curiosity I watched him for a few months(Like a creep...Yes.) But I was very Intrigued. He seemed so Perfect(From all the glowing reviews) and With me Just starting I kind of considered him a Mentor...even tho we Have never met and He doesnt know I exist. I agree with the general sentiment here. Hire well-reviewed guys. Not just one recent review, but several over at least two years. Hiring the wrong guy, for you, isn't a reason to stop hiring.

 

I'll give you my own experience as an example. I almost stopped hiring late last year because of a bad hire. But, I hired a local guy at the end of the year, had fun and decided to try again this year. I've met the perfect Escort for me this year, plus three other great escorts. I found them because I didn't give up on what I wanted.

 

Don't give up. The right guy is out there.

Communication is key. I once had an (over 100 reviews!) escort and we were doing our thing but from the very start, we were off-kilter with each other. After the session, I was perplexed to why my experience differ from the reviews. Forward one year later, he texted me that he would be swinging by my town again. He had texted me a few times before but I usually ignored them. This time, I answered back and set up a time. Over time, I have become more assertive and more communicative than in the past. I told him that I didn't want a boyfriend experience but a porn star experience. So when we got together, we clicked! And I had a great time.

 

Aside from that, a fellow private-messaged me and we compared our notes on certain escorts. I had a great time but the fellow had a horrible time with one escort; my experience was so-so but the fellow had a GREAT time with a different escort. What was common to both escorts is that their girth of their dicks were quite thick. Different strokes for different folks!

So very true! Soon after posting this truly "dramatic" headline (I am ALWAYS one in search of drama!) I encountered a gentleman through a site who turned out to be just great... made me decide perhaps I had too quickly jumped to a dire conclusion about the profession. He was so good that I recommended him to a friend. And you know what happened? He ended up pulling a "no show" on my friend. Now while I understand there is a bit of "apples and oranges" going on here (a bad performance vs. a no show), ultimately it does come down to guys just not living up to what they promise.

Is that an actual bed or just a collection of blankets on the floor. Only thing I'd worry about is how often do they get washed and any bugs running around. Then again that's probably about all I could afford in NY too.

Your concerns are well-founded, but I am trying not to be (too) "catty" about him and his situation - let me just say that the quality of his apartment was the least of my problems, hehe!
