About 3 months ago I changed mobile carriers. I accepted the free phone and have been happy with my service.

Now I would like to purchase a new phone. The mobile company has the phone listed at two rates in their stores $149. & $29. I thought the higher price was retail and the lower for new activations. Was I wrong, it will cost me $249. for the same cellular phone.

Apparently both of the listed prices are related to activations. I checked other carriers and they had the same pricing structure. Unless I'm considered a "blue customer" or wait 12 months I would have to pay the full retail value. Even a plan upgrade will not result in the new phone at the more reasonable price.

Any suggestions?
