For those of you in Greater New England, or at least familiar with a place called Tanglewood, an era has come to an end: John Oliver has retired as Conductor of the Tanglewood Festival Chorus.

To toot my own horn: I was a member in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th and 8th seasons. (I didn't know about the first; work interferred with the 5th; Medical School interferred with the 7th; and I was too damn busy the rest of the time.)

 

This was after a performance of Beethoven's Choral Fantasia, Op. 80. I would have been in the left part of the photo, but I don't see myself.
