Enjoying a glass of wine tonite and watching the 25th Anniversary show of Les Miserables taped at O2 in London and realized it has been 30 years since the first production. If you have not seen the 25th Anniversary video, it is worth watching especially if you like the songs. A young Nick Jonas appears in this production as Marius. He's not as strong a voice as some of the others but still respectable. I just learned that Alfie Boe will reprise his role on Broadway in NYC as Jean Valjean starting in September. He was fantastic! I have an opportunity to obtain tickets to see him including a back stage pass to meet the cast in November. Looking for someone to go with me. Prefer a younger guy who has not seen it before so he can really enjoy the experience.

Lol. Yes, buried in there was "Looking for someone to go with me." I missed it the first read through myself. And, yes, the glass of wine, lol.

Smiled -- I had the same idea, but was not sipping wine at the time. I am a HUGE fan of Alfie Boe and when I saw the same program that Njbaseballjock watched, I was intrigued with the possibility of 2 tickets etc... and then "Hmmm, who would I invite?" I almost put up an "ad" -- thank heavens I kept my randy thoughts to myself, although, truth be told, for many clients here who do frequent Broadway, the Met, ballet and the fine arts, I am sure it would be helpful to them knowing a list of escorts who are just as appreciative and who would not only be nice arm candy, but who would appreciate the performance (and no... not seeking a discount for the after-show!).

I once took a very nice escort to Carnegie Hall for a moving recital. He was (I suspect) high on something and began fidgeting and talking (above a whisper), and an elderly couple behind us dared to "shush" him. He went into an expletive-laden rant against the poor couple that included racist comments (elderly couple were clearly Jewish [including man wearing a discreet yarmulka]). I was soooo humiliated. I had tickets the next night (I had flown him in for 5 days), to the Met -- he refused to go. So... you know from where I am coming with the comments...
